I don't mean to offend, but isn't it odd that when these only came from the factory in red, everyone wanted to clear them. Now that Mazda got w/OUR program (e.g. got the hint,) we want red ones??

I doubt everyone likes them clear, I like the red partly because it
ties it in with the red reflectors on the bumper, but for those who don't like the red they can get them in smoked which in my opinion is the way it should
have came from the factory.

These trends are cyclical.
In a year or two, everyone is going to want red tails and amber turn signal lenses to stand out from the masses because every car out there will have the clear look.

I got my Volks in Mercury Silver and everyone bashed me for not going with a dark or black wheel. Personally, I'm over black wheels... been there, done that and everyone has 'em right now. I'm guessing in a year or so, everyone else is going to be tired of black wheels and the "murdered" look and we'll start seeing shiny wheels and emblems being all the rage again.

I've been around the tuner scene for as long as or longer than some of you guys have been alive. I've seen the trends cycle in and out.

Meh, kinda. It appears black. Yes, the light shines through nicely and the reflectors still reflect nicely. They are nightshaded and it's not an opaque covering.

If it came smoked from the factory, "everyone" would want them clear.
The others here (Saskatchewan17, Jchouin1 & kneedragger241) made my point for me. What's old is new and what's new is old. On and on.....
I just think it funny, that's all.
