What have you done to your MS3 today?

black urethane with red lettering. It looks pretty slick on my car. I need to go ahead and get some coilovers for the car now to complete the look.

well its been raining alot here on the east coast so drops of water on my car during the day are very common. so i go out this morning and its bright and sunny, but theres still a drop of water on the hood so i decide to wipe it off. upon trying to wipe i find that it wont go away. is it sap maybe??? nope not sap...come to find out its a drop of clear coat that the body shop dripped on the hood while painting. three weeks i thought it was a drop of water lol. needless to say the body shop will fix it free of charge. other than that i just did some spirited driving on the highway(wiggle)

Cool. I got the Black ones with dark gray letters. Post some pics up when ya can.

Drove up to DC last night to meet the lady who might become my next girlfriend. Damn, I hope so, if last night was any indication. (breakn)

Saw a CWP last night stuck in the same wall of traffic that caught me, just north of Fredericksburg. Spotted a red MS3 headed northbound on I95 this morning, while I was going south towards Richmond.

Sexy as usual. Was it hard to paint the little chrome rings? And can you paint the reflectors of the high beams and turn signals?

Thanks! It wasn't too hard... the most difficult part was being patient enough to let everything dry before re-assembly. xD And I removed the orange reflector.

nice headlights. big props! where did you get that front lip? never seen it before.

Thanks a bunch. The front lip I purchased from this awesome guy in Japan.. I'm not sure of the company name, but he had purchased it for his Speed, but then decided to sell it (so I purchased it).

Put 1 inch foam pad into redline armrest, squishy squishy now. Now my armrest is the softest thing in my car.

I just sanded the pieces lightly to rough up the chrome finish. I used primer (2 coats), paint (2 coats) and clear coat (3 coats). Be sure to leave ample time for everything to dry... putting the pieces back on the black plastic portion of the headlight WILL damage the paint if you aren't extremely careful. :)

I just used graphite paint on mine. While I was in there I painted the projector shield blue, installed The Retrofit Source clear lenses and color-modded the projectors (washers ftw).

When auto crossing this weekend at the local divisional that was held on the site the nationals will be at for the SCCA in two weeks. Ended up finishing 3rd of 4 in DSP. I'm usually on top of DSP locally but two guys from out of state came in to run on the site before nationals. Both of whom have much more money and experience in their cars than I do. Both of them were rocking some huge tires compared to my 225's. One was on 275's and the other on 285's. I'm looking to do some 255's next to try and keep up! I lost the first day by 4 seconds! The second day I lost by 4 seconds again but was hampered by 2nd gear popping out three times over three runs. I could have been a 1.5 seconds faster every time this happened. So thats an issue that needs to be fixed before nationals.

Other than that the car ran great. Got my setup just right with my coilovers and tire pressures that I was dealing with a car that seemed more RWD than FWD. It felt really neutral which was great. I'll get pics and vids up soon!

Get ready to see a lot of pretty wild stuff at Nationals. I know of two guys from my area (Central Carolina & South Carolina region) that will be making the trip for DSP. One has a SRT-4 with 285's on the front and 245's on the rear. Another drives a '99 Impreza with some pretty wide tires that offset at least 4-6" outside the fender well. The Impreza will probably compete for a trophy as this car has been fully prepped.

DSP will allow you to do a lot with tires. I'm looking at keeping my 245's on the rear and getting some 265/larger on the front. Just have to find some wheels with the right offset. As for the 2nd gear issue, I have the same problem. This only happens to me when braking hard on an uneven surface. My current solution is to just keep a hand on the shifter and hold it in 2nd during these parts of the track. I've gotten so use to the sound of it popping out of gear that it's almost natural to just put it back in while driving. I ran this past weekend on a smooth surface and had no problems. I am thinking about removing the shifter weight and seeing if that helps.

Ya I noticed it this weekend on the nationals site which is a bit bumpy. I tried to replicate it on the street after the auto-x on my street tires but could only do it once. I though removing the heavy shift knob might help the cause and I couldn't get it to do it after I removed it. Still I could see the stick bouncing around and trying to pop out. I want to try a short throw shifter and a lightweight shift knob to try and fix the problem. What shifter weight are you talking about? I've never taken a good look at our gear linkage.

The car running 275's was an Impreza so from out of state so it may be the same car you mentioned. A 95 BMW 325i was the car with 285's that fit under his fenders! They were seriously rolled but still! I want to move up to 245's and then put something bigger on the front like a 255 or 265. Maybe even a 275 if I'm really brave. Damn I already bought some sweet rims and I would need more to do that! I'll stick with the 245's when I get them for a while. Build up everything else and then go back to tires later when the car is no longer my daily driver.

Mine don't make the noise anymore, the endlinks I mean. I got under there and tightened them down like they were supposed to be and no noise since. Been like 4 months at least
