What have you done to your MS3 today?

Man, it's been a while since I've been here... I don't even remember what the last mod I listed as being?

Here are some new/newer ones....

Alum Fuel Door

Pilot Shift Knob (Yeah, it's a cheapy, but I like the way it feels in my hand, and it's heavier than the stock too)

LEDs in the cup holders. Output is controlled by the pot just above the ash tray.

Also, on order (will receive in a couple of weeks: ) Kosei's K1 TS's, 17"x7"x+50mm and Kumho ASX's, 225/45x17" The tires are 2lbs heavier than my Falkens, but the wheels are nearly 5lbs. lighter. That should lighten things up a bit!!

Mazda Design Challenge

Mazda kicked off a user-generated-contest with Facebook on 9/20. The contest focuses on design.

College grads describe a hypothetical 2018 Mazda concept car with words or sketches. The top 5 get to

develop their concepts with the Mazda design team, and the winners design will be unveiled live at

the 2007 LA International Auto Show.

At 7500 miles, synthetic oil change and service, Redline MT-90 in the transaxle, and finally got an MS CAI. Pleasantly surprised that it isn't too much louder in everyday driving.

Geez, thos are massive....hope u have room to store them!!!

look nice and solid though!

I was thinking the same thing, but WOW, instant grease pit!! (lol) And I'll bet they weigh a ton too.
Won't help much if you need to remove the wheels though.

I especially like the finger in the first picture. (rlaugh)

How about posting the dimensions and parts list ,it would save me some time building a set

sorry about the wait.

i used 2x12x12 for the main ramp. The car is too low to use the rhino ramps to get up on so i used 2x12x8 for the wedges. I also used 3" wood screws all over it to keep it together with steel joist hanging brackets to secure. I put in vertical sections every 16" to strengthen it (cut the wood so grain id running vertical for strength.

Not a very good explanation i know but i've had a bad day so sorry.

Here are some pics, next time i will build from steel, it'll prob be lighter, stronger and no doubt last for ever.

thanks for the pics bbrich but i grew tired of the cap falling down onto my paint, my way is idiot proof which is what I need.

for the sides of the wedges you can use a 2x10x8 and cut it diagnally to make the 2 sides from 1 peice of wood. That is actually what i did but for some reason it was just easier to to say 2x12x8 in my last post.

I just bought an 08 Mazda3 and I'm wanting to get all weather floor mats. Do you think I should invest in factory ones, or just get cheap ones?

factory - considering the recall on mazda's original design because of the accelerator getting stuck, i would hate to think what a poorly designed cheapo would do

In the first place, I realize your a noob, but this is not the thread to be asking questions on. It's a thread about what mods you've done.

Now, having said that, on to the (my) answer: Factory, however you do not have to buy them from a dealer. You might look on eBay. I've seen them there for a $10-$20 cheaper... and less if they are used.

Installed the SU rear engine mount. Easy install, less than 30 minutes. Plus, it gave me an excuse to buy ramps and a torque wrench.
