became utterly disgusted with my stock suspension setup after a trip this weekend. i need something adjustable....now

open to suggestions.

1. I live in pothole central (NYC) so glass smooth only setups are a no go
2. Im running on 245/40 starspecs with absolutely 0 give to them
3. Front suspension feels bolted to the frame, rear thinks its a lowrider n bagged
4. Im missing 2 teeth and have a broken cocyx along with more interior rattles than...well anyone from said front suspension along with probable bent suspension pieces and broken bushings
5. said rear suspension is causing rubbing when in full bounce mode
6. obviously dont want to lower the car

u find something that corrects these items, even marginally and i will buy

Your rubbing is only going to be fixed by creating fender clearance where it is currently lacking (by altering your wheel size/offset, or by downsizing your tires, or by rolling/modifying your fenders, or by some combination of all three of those things).

I suggest investing in either a set of Bilstein Sport/HDs, or a set of Konis (either Sports or FSDs).

not much more i can do on the rubbing. ive already rolled as much as possible. it only rubs at full compression, which is why i think my rears are toast. next set of tires im going with 235s without a doubt

Bought a Jbarone SSP from "not yellow", been looking at one of these for awhile. I'm pretty excited to throw it on along with my TXS test pipe this saturday!

8.5 go with Koni FSDs....that sounds like the solution to your problems. Read up on em if you havent heard of them before.

Thanks Nliitend and MM. I will probably go with FSD's since i dont want to **** with adjusting the yellows. Did koni come out with MS3 specifics? looked on tire rack and the model for the MS3 is the same as the MZ5....wtf?

Yeah, the new "MS3-specific" kit is the same kit that they sell for the 5s.

The fronts are identical to the "regular 3" kit, but the rear of the 5/MS3 kit has ~20% 'stiffer' damping...

Let us know how the FSDs work. The technology seems cool in theory, but I wonder if it works in practice as well as advertised.

I would have went with FSD's if they made em compatible with lowering springs, but they only work with OEM. Monster truck mazdaspeeds FTL!

I thought the FSD's come w/their own springs... that it was a (more or less) complete package deal, yes?

As a std Mz3 owner running a 27mm rear bar, the MS3 kit sounds like the way to go to help eliminate the understeer, or at least help to counter act it.

My Yellow's are set nearly full stiff in the rear ('bout 2.0 full turns) and nearly off in the front. They, and the bar helped a lot but the ride is a little on the harsh/crude side.

The MS3 FSDs do not come prepackaged with springs...

I think they offer something like that for standard Mazda 3s, but not for MS3s (and it would not be wise to use regular Mazda 3 Eibach Pro Kit springs - which I believe is what comes with the regular Mazda 3 "kit" - on an MS3. They're too soft).
