my buddy's car did the same thing after installing the cobb dp. It took a couple start-n-idle's to get it going, but it did level out. Just double check that your 02 sensors are secure for piece of mind. Also, make sure you route your wideband line behind the heat shield so it doesn't drape over the dp and melt.

ok. i routed it by zipp tiein it to the fire wall then to the second O2 sensor wire to make sure it doesn't touch the DP. so keep starting it over and over until it levels out?

Yes. It will take a few starts to get your ecu to adjust. I think it took Steve about 4-5 starts.

Also double check for a vacuum leak or if you knocked off a vacuum hose.

BTW, Installed my blendmount, now to hard wire the V1 today.

^^Do you have the no Homelink/no compass mirror?

I have a GT with no options, and I'm not sure that the Blendmount will work with the weird little nearly-right-angle arm that the mirror is hung with on my car...

yeah, who ever said installing a DP is a PITA... well MY opinion the only hard thing was disconnecting the O2 wire sockets where they connect, other than that, nothing some PB blaster and impact wrench can't handle

put a smile on my face thats for sure.

My Mazdaspeed 3

I recently bought a used 2007 Mazdaspeed 3. It had 41K miles and had some nice upgrades. All the work was done by Bell Engineering in San Antonio. The intercooler had been relocated in front of the radiator. They replaced the engine management chip. It has a cold air induction system and a hard motor mount. According to the previous owner the car dyno'd at 300HP at the front wheels. I installed some Kumho Ecsta ASX 225x40 tires on it when I bought it.

Shortly after I got it the intercooler mount vibrated against the AC condensor lines and broke one. I took it back to Mazda South and they replaced condenser at cost and reconfigured the mounts to isolate the intercooler farther away from the condensor and associated lines.

I love my MS3. It is bad ass. I have owned at least 15 Mazdas including two RX-7s, a 626GT, an MX-6GT, two Rotary Trucks, a 2002 Protege5, 2006 Tribute(wife's car) and numerous other Mazdas.

My only question is: the previous owner ran Amsoil and when I did the first oil change I used Mobil 1 synthetic. Should I change sooner than the recommended interval?

It works, its very adjustable. I got a GT with no Homelink though.

how about a pic of this relocated intercooler

Dremmeled out the rear bumper, rolled the fenders a bit more. No rubbing yet....fingers crossed.

And I dont want to spend money on a retune

Hey Mac,
Rumors are, and have been that Mobil1 is using a cheaper synthetic base to keep the (their) costs down. I used to run it regularly and for 15k miles at a time too, in the old days, but have stayed away now for several years.

Based on my personal (non-scientific) feelings, I would certainly not trust modern M1 as much as the AMSOIL. But AMSOIL just might be overkill for a DD anyway.

So, not my MS3, but my dad has recently been car shopping, and we went and drove an Audi S5 and a Mercedes E63 AMG...wow. The Merc. hauls sooooo much ass. He will probably get a '10 Audi S5/4.2. So ill have some pics up when he gets it

Wow, that's a tough decision. No M3 in the mix?
