just did the cabin air filters....shew and cot-damn that was pretty involved for a cabin air filter. honduhs are much betterer

anyway....walked away with no broken clips, no missing screws, and no cut fingers so the process went well for me. but i think i'd rather install an mscai than do the cabin filters

here's my old ones at 33k (put them next to a white sheet of paper on purpose to show the difference...

also shoulda taken a vaccuum with a thin attachment to the settled stuff where the filters were but i was in a rush.

Do you drive through coal mines daily? :)

Glad you were able to change them out without too much fanfare.

Installed my CPE hpfp yesterday. what a b****. 1800psi FTW

also put the stock BPV back on.

KR has left the building :)

I installed my first mod a few days ago, CPE Nano. For just an intake this thing made a nice difference in power. It's loud as hell too.

Put my summer wheels back on today.
Changed what I thought was a blown Luminics fog light bulb only to find out that the bulb isn't the issue. Hmmm.

Researched the trade in value on my car.

anyone ever calculated their mileage against the on-board computer? i've been getting surprisingly good mileage lately according to the car's readout and wonder how accurate it is...

It's not...

I think the consensus is that it's usually about 2-3 mpg optimistic. I honestly haven't used any of those "features" (instant mileage, avg speed, avg mileage, distance to empty) on my car in a looooooong time...

I took her on a nice, long drive today and rolled past 11k miles.

Yes, it's pretty close, but a bit optimistic.

i'm not running stock size wheels/tires either which may complicate things further. i need to calculate by hand sometime in order to get a reality check. but even subtracting a few MPG from the computer, i'm still very happy with the mileage i'm getting.

Seriously? I get KR stock or with Forge. Give it a couple days it'll come back.

I swapped back to my summers today, and installed a TRZ dogbone mount. Will be selling my AWR Race Mount soon enough.

What's funny is, you can definitely feel the weight difference. Boost builds slightly slower, you can't rip the tires apart until higher in the rpm band. But that could be a result of back to summer tread versus winter soft tread.

Considering starting a part out thread.....

How come? What's going on?

I have been really debating how, i'm not 100% happy with this car. It does nothing wrong technically. Just not entirely what i'm looking for. I "fit" in the 2010 MS3 better, I feel more comfortable driving it. But I am having a really hard time getting into the same exact car and restarting a loan.

I may hold off till the 2011 Mustang V6 comes out, or try and dig up something used and good.

All my MS3 buddies are leaving me. :(

Seriously, I can name like 5-10 guys right now who are in that "I'm not happy with the car/going to part out/looking at trade in values" group.

Internal motor problem.... the o2 sensor was not the problem. I'm at 18500 miles so still way under warranty so I have to take off all my engine mods in order to take it to Mazda for work. Spent 6 hours working on that today and have to go to a shop to get the downpipe and catch can off tomorrow after school.

in the end there is no perfect car. it's always a trade off... you can't have big/small, cheap/expensive, powerful/efficient, new/old, FWD/RWD/AWD, simple/complicated all in one package. you gotta pick your poison. i've had 4 mazdas and 6 other cars and they all have their pros and cons. wanting something different is fine, but searching for the "perfect" car is a lost cause.

It's not that I don't love the speed and want something better. I just think I have no luck with it.

Problems to date:
-RSB nut loose making noise for a month before figuring it out
-Friend backs into it at 2 mph in a driveway because he didn't look backwards and scrapes up the side doing $1,400 worth of damage
-Broken front bumper after turing around in a neighborhood with curbs for driveway entrances (had no other choice to turn around)
-Kid rear ends me on the way to school (no visible damage, I had the clutch in)
-Bent wheel 150$ to fix
-Broken under-tray due to snow. It's currently held on by zip ties.
-Kid in a Honda Civic traveling too fast in 6 inches of snow with terrible all seasons hits me since he was going to fast and couldn't stop. (still my fault since I was pulling away from a stop sign with 6 foot snow banks on either side) My car alone was $2000+ and his had rust damage that I didn't cause but had to pay for.
-Dead o2 sensor. Had to pay for the inspection and part.
-And now an internal motor problem
