What have you done to your MS3 today?

Installed the SU TMIC. Everything fit perfect EXCEPT the rubber grommets on the mount points. They wouldn't fit at all. I had to find two thin rubber grommets and put them on the top/bottom of each hole along with washers on each side and torque it down. I'm hoping it doesn't cause any problems.

I drove around for a few minutes and am letting it break in today before I womp on it. I did hit boost in 3rd @ 4200 rpm and it spooled up super-quick and threw me back a bit. The built-in boost-meter hit the top (15+ mark) amazingly fast.

Yes the pic is blurry, if Mariachi is going to complain about it buy me a camera so I can replace my iPhone.

Yes, disconnected the battery. Pumped the brakes, then the car sat for about an hour while I was installing. Am I missing something?

no you should be good. I have heard however, that your ecu is much more sensitive to changes. so watch for CEL's the first 100 miles or so

Absolutely. I'm going to go easy on it for a couple of days. Plus I have to talk to Mark @ SU and see what his advice is about the whole rubber grommet issue.

If I do see any CEL what codes do you think I would possibly throw?

looks good, i'll be curious to hear more about it after you break it in. i'm sure you will get a much more dramatic difference once you get rid of that stock air box and inlet as well.

and it's me that complained about your blurry pictures, not mariachi!

p2187/88 if you have a vacuum/boost leak (somethings loose)

overboost, and maybe load/fuel cut

LoL... fair enough. It's hard for me to stabilize the iPhone so any slight motion makes the pic blur. I just got home drove about 40 mi. Got into boost in 4th at about 4500rpm and it spooled mega-quick and put me back in the butt dyno.

Yeah I have my SRI/TIP sitting in the house, just haven't had a chance to put it on. Maybe in a couple of days when things adjust on the car. I'll keep you posted.

i have a stock IC but the SRI/TIP combo made a HUGE difference for me! i can only imagine how much better it could be with an upgraded IC.

i have an iphone as well.... you can take a decent shot with it if you brace/stabilize it against something. or drink less coffee.

Ordered a set of 2010 H&R Sport Springs from http://mjmautohaus.com/. They were drop shipped from H&R today for $237 (19$ of that was tax because they are a TX dealer). If you're a gen2 make sure to give them a call 210-382-7278 and give them PN #52603 and ask they drop ship them to you. They are really nice guys and have a good reputation in the VW community.

Cheers!

I finally broke down and started my brakes today. I got one side down tonight, its ok though because the cars not leaving the garage until sunday morning for a show. Here a few pics

lol youll still be his hero cuz you have the other engine to build and drop in upon your current engine's blowing up(rofl)

I hope that does not happen. I don't plan on pushing this engine that hard. I'm driving this car daily so I'm really trying to hit about 280-300hp max, safely. If safety and reliability become a factor I'll back off a bit.

Picked up my o2 sensor today and had a friend bring home the tool I need to get the stock one off and this one on from the shop he was at. Will do the install tomorrow.

strick, the gold and red looks great. keep rocking it!

Have you seen the gen2 thread? It's not too interesting. But fine, I'll go start my own thread.

"What did NyNHeX do to his gen2, today?"

haven't seen the gen 2 thread but i'm glad you are here. you are hanging with the cool kids...!

re-painted my front M emblem. this time with a few coats of clear!

also transported a 1/2 barrel keg of yuengling and my keg-o-rator to a party
mini-wagons FTW!

GT. It is fairly easy to do... just run a wire through the firewall, tap into the little black/red wire in the steering wheel and just do a little bit of rewiring in the fuse box.

]

ugh...knew it was more involved. i'd be all over this semi-free mod if it wasn't for my finnicky foglight HID kit. they only ignite when they feel like it
