Last friday, I did the VVT and Timing chain. Did the timing chain since we already had the Front cover off so now she is nice and quiet. Very pleased.
Kept getting a check engine light for the cam Sensor. Stated bank one over retarded. (I have a retarded MS3)
But, we found out the computer thought it was still having issues with the original VVT which was as loose as a $2 hooker on St. Patricks day. Cleared the computer (Manual Reset) and now no problems.
Today, I decided it was time to get the front brakes knocked out. They where real low (2/32nd at best), and very squeeky! Anoying!!!!!
Anyways, shes comming along ( a LOOONG way!) from the $10k condition she was in.
Since I bought it last week, Ive replaced:
VVT Actuator
Timing Chain
All Tires
Front Brakes
Air Filter
&
Spark Plugs
Also had the car detailed inside and out (Now I can see all the dents and scratches! ) and changed the oil.
Oh, and windshield gets replaced this week too. After that, time to focus on the body.![]()
lol Only things fixed are mechanical. Still has all the dents and scratches. But, Ile take some better picks tomorrow.![]()
I've still got my TIP sitting in the closet, someone here or on the forum that shan't be named had a nice writeup with pics that I can't seem to find..
this install is very straightforward, i just did it over the weekend, no need for any instructions. take off tmic cover, intake, battery and tray, then you can access inlet pipe. most importantly - be very careful removing the small tube off the nipple on the pipe and don't break the nipple on the other end of it that is attached to the solenoid! many have snapped it, but don't fear, just don't yank on it. as always, be patient and alert, take your time, and check things twice for proper fitment and tightness.
lots of people have problems with the tensioner. bet thats your issue
