What have you done to your Miata today?

Crashed mine... dam ice and parked mini vans

Damn! That hurts! That's exactly why we use our old truck in the winter months. I leave all of the cars in the garage when it snows, rains, etc during those months because I don't don't want salt or big dings on them. I'd not want to wreck our truck, either; but, I'd rather sacrifice it than any of our cars. I hope you get if fixed, soon.

I washed my miata today...a nice break from the bleek 2 weeks of rain brought in some sunshine finally. Also noticed I can hear water sloshing around somewhere. I'm assuming from crappy drainage on the streets that when I drive around its gets into the panels some where.
I need to get that out ASAP before it starts rusting away. :/

It's likely in the rear rocker panels. Definately get that out quickly as that area is known to rust out.

rear rocker panels?

rainrail could be cracked

my rain rail cracked and let water into the cabin which worked its way into the boot and filled my boot up with water

i noticed it when i opened my boot up lifted the carpet and wow big puddle

The drain tubes for the soft top tend to get plugged and water will find it's way into the rocker panels forward of the rear wheels. On earlier models, the weep holes in the bottom of the rockers were small and were apt to plugging as well. Water would sit in the rockers over time slowly rusting them out.

Yep...now I gotta figure out how we're gonna get that out of there...there should be plugs iirc.

lols, understatement of the decade...

in a valley where we don't even get measurable amounts of snow in any given year, i got over 12 inches at my house...

iirc your side of town got less than mine did, ehe... but thats why i had to abandon the m-edition at green valley ranch by my work and wait for my pops with his 4x4 to come rescue me that night lol

This is what I did over the weekend

I finished wiring it up today

Now anyone got any ideas as to how I can protect my amp if I ever decide to put stuff in my boot

You could make a cover for it. Just make sure you have enough space to allow the heat to disapate. That way, you can let things bang against the cover and not the amp. Some sheet aluminum or polycarbinate plastice may be just the ticket.

I've been sitting on these parts for about a month now, but I received a nearly new 2002 head and cover (VVT of course) and a Racing Beat 4-1 header. I got awsome deals on both.

I'll be building a new engine to the extent of the rules for the CSP car some time over the next few months (thread to come). Furthermore, I'm currently designing a programmable controller to allow the VVT to work with the MegaSquirt as well. I already have the block, rods, and crank. I just need to source an oil pan, MBSP, new seals for everything, and oil and water pumps. That's not to mention machine work.

I'm really looking forward to the end result, but the $700+ 40-over pistons are going to hurt.

got a new tail light a few days ago to replace the one that was smashed by some ass that backed into my car. Now I just need to wait for the temp outside to be above 25 degrees to put it in

What I did maybe a little hard for you, but I bolted in a sub/amp rack from a US-MSP in my boot. I also have the same set up (down firing like stock) in my 323f wagon.
it's (butthump)!

Damn, you've got your work cut out for you. I'm sure it'll be worth it once done though.
