What have you done to your Miata today?

Yah...I had the top repaired today. Did a pretty decent job.

Usually, I take the face off...just got complacent I guess...

I had to replace that radio bezel cuz the stereo was stolen out of mine too. no one had a used one so oem was like 90 bucks. I discovered a small oil leak. it looks like its comin from the rear main seal. the throw out bearing is goin out anyway so when i change the clutch ill replce it too. Just a bummer. Glad your top is fixed phil

Yep...fixed and the wife got me a new jvc cd player (a better one) to replace the stolen one.

Man I'm excited. I drove with the top off for the first time yesterday. The weather was perfect all day, so much fun. Just waiting on a wiring harness and install kit (already ordered) so i can install my stereo and have some tunes! The prev owner told me there are speakers in the headrest. Is that stock on 90 mx5's or not? im just curious, doesnt matter really.

Yes...stock!
I miss Mine because when I installed the racing seats, the speakers had to go too. Bye bye highs :( I had to invest in a good set of component speakers to offset the loss of that.

and the front top corner of the windows meet the black rubber, yes. right there. It doesnt leak when driving, only when sitting.

Check the rubber seal around the top of the window. I had to silicone mine to stop the leaking.

Fired it up, and it Runs smooth as heck:

tomorrow will be doing Flyin' Miata's method to set the rings and begin break-in ( http://www.flyinmiata.com/tech/breakin.php )

going to gingerly drive the car this week, making sure I don't hit the revlimiter, then change the oil to Castrol GTX, and so long as all is okay after a few hundred miles, considering autocrossing the car at the first LVR-SCCA event of the year on 1/24.

I had to modify my a/c fan shroud to get it to fit with the 37mm radiator... but only because i have the racingbeat swaybar mount brace... much over 37mm tho and you need to modify the fans just to clear the regular swaybar from what i've read, so thats why I went w/the 37mm one. I wanted the 55mm one, but at the time i was worried about cutting the fan shroud... once i did it anyways, i realized it was not a big deal and wished I had went for the bigger one since i live in vegas and it gets hot here.

Then, when I was building my specmiata, I found this gem:
http://www.gomiata.com/mimialra19.html way less expensive than the koyo (i actually got the mishimoto for my spec for even less than gomiata, cos i found it on ebay, but still... when the koyos are all ~$400 everywhere else, hard to beat the mishi for $250) , and in my opinion its just as good if not better than the 37mm one I've got on the street car... wish I'd seen it when I ordered the koyo to replace the busted oem one on my street car ehe

Crashed mine... dam ice and parked mini vans

Those pesky minivans are always in the way. Are you ok tho?? no injuries i hope.

I just installed my stereo. im SO happy (rockon). Id post some pics, but its ugly as sin. lol it fits snug, no gaps, but the face sticks out about two inches (hand). it works though, cept for the blown headrest speakers. Ahh who cares, I got tunes!!
