i dunno ive been running VTA on my draw thru for a 1 1/2 years and aside from the occasional backfire here and there its run good.. but i played with ATR alot to get it that way, most people wont..

anywho its going away forever in alittle more then a week.. no more Draw Thru!!! woohooo!!!

Good job Qwik, I look forward to seeing your logs . I managed to break one of the 3 E8 bolts that holds the hpfp in. I'm not very happy about that!! I was 99% done, and I over-torqued it a tad too much . Oh well, I called John @ PTP, and he said this happens a lot and some other bolts will fit, but I've been striking out at Lowes and HD. I tried calling some mazdaspeed dealers to see if they had the bolts, but I couldn't get through, and then they were all closed. Getting very tired of this car! I know I broke the dumb bolt, but the hpfp shouldn't have failed in the first place... like the CPE TIP that almost blew my engine, and then the Perrin ebcs that s*** the bed. I'm considering parting this thing out when the hpfp goes in. We'll see. I'd be better off so I could study and buy another car.

Why you getting tired of it? Any car you mod up will have its issues. Your best bet is to keep things simple like me . Can go back to stock in like 2 hours and no problems.

I installed my CF front grill today. Managed to break 3 or the 4 clips on the stock grill.....oh well. When I reinstall it I'll just use some JB weld and double sided tape to make sure it's all secure.

Well its suppose to be like 90* and pretty for the next week so I decided it was time to detail the car..

I washed and dried, then used Mequiar's Clay Bar Kit to smooth it out, then used ICE Wax from Turtlewax to finish the job.. It was what I had laying around the house and it does a pretty decent job for a quick wax..

Spent four hours detailing my car today.

Full Interior (Vacuumed, cleaned dash, door panels, all trim, leather, etc)
Exterior (Wash, Clay Bar, Polish, and Clear Coat Protectant)

Probably the cleanest she's ever been right now.

I found some bolts for the hpfp yesterday, and put it on. Tripped a CEL, but cleared it w/ the AP. First couple miles were rough... I followed the new break in procedures which call for idling for 1 min, 1,500 rpms for 1 min, etc. That was fine, when I started to drive I got fuel cut a couple times at 4K and pressured plummeted. I stopped, and idled for a while longer, and held a couple different rpms again for a bit, and continued driving. It seemed to be OK after that, so I put ~20 miles on the pump yesterday, and I still got 80 to go before it's 'broken in.' I'm just glad it seems to be okay, as I thought the new pump was gonna seize up. We'll see how it goes... I'll be putting some miles on today, going to a beach that's further away.

well i was going to fully clean my O.Z.'s today and put some more Wheel Sealent on them but its just too damn hot not to be at my parents pool today.. although a thunderstorm halted swimming for 30 minutes or so..
