What have you done to your Mazda6 today?

I used to have the DG splitters. Loved the look but I had to let them go. I was so scared of scrapping them off. Plus I have to take themon and off everytime i went to the shop. I wish I would have kept them..

Got my AutoEXE carbon fiber rear splitters

Cool, looks sharp, glad you like them!

Good news is I got the car running and as good as new again!

Glad you're up and running Ho-ham! Thanks for taking the pre-blow thru logs...much appreciated. I look forward to seeing the results. Do me a favor, and don't touch your map before taking some logs w/ the identical map (unless of course you're running lean or something, but that should not happen). Only way to get solid, comparable data is to control for everything, and change only 1 variable at a time... as you other science nerds know. Anyways, I'm psyched for you buddy... I was worried about you there for a bit! Good Job fixing the power issue!!

Thanks for the help guys. Though it sucks since my internet has been down at the house.

Good news is I got the car running and as good as new again!

Last night I ran a 4 gauge wire from the batteries negative side up to the front where it was originally grounded with the other wire. Tried to start the car and all I heard was a single click. The battery was pretty low so I left it on the charger over night. Got up this morning and tried to crank it again. No luck. I thought the battery was bad so I switched it with the red top in my stealth and it still wouldnt crank. the other car was able to start with the battery in mine. So Its not the battery. I switched them back. Hooked it up again. So I took a test light to the 2 positive wires going into the engine bay. One was lit the other one wasnt. Came back to the trunk and tested again. One was lit after the fuse while the other wasnt. I looked at the fuse. it didnt appear to be blown so I replaced it anyways with a new one. Connected the battery again. The car turn over a few times but would not start and then stopped. I checked that fuse and it was blown.

Heres the thing. We have 90 amp altenators. I was told by the audio shop 2 80amp fuses on each line will be more than enough. In the engine bay I have a 100amp fuse on the starter wire. And a 80 amp fuse to the other wire. In the rear its two 80 amp fuses. So the 90 amp draw must have blow that one 80 amp on the starter power wire. I went ahead and put a distribution block in place of that fuse since I dont have another 100 amp fuse. she started right up. :) I turned all of my lights on and hit turn signals and brakes and my voltage didnt drop like before. I am good to go.

(yippy)(yippy)(yippy) (thumb) cant wait to do mine next week..:), although im not relocating the battery until i tear the car down..

its almost done! springs should be on tomorrow :)

Great news about finding your power problems taylor!

So, i'm making preparations to store my car for July.
will be out of country. But will have the car driven once a week, think that'll be enough to keep a charge on the battery?
my stock battery died after 4 days of not driving before, the new battery should be ok for 5 days at a time, i think.

i see, so use the cleaning solution just toss the filter oil in the garbage? haha

aye, i used the K&N cleaning fluid for mine. Except i followed the AEM filter cleaning instructions as a full soak, instead of a simple spray and set. Did a dilution of the K&N cleaning fluid in water, and then followed the AEM cleaning soak instructions... worked great, tons of build up got cleaned off. the water was BLACK when i was done... and hot DAMN that filter took foreEVER to dry. it was a 90+ degree day too, sat it in the sun rotated every 30 min.

So after getting the new wheel to replace the bent one. Im finding more track aftermath, my passegner side suspension is clicking WAY more than ever, and my mileage took a nosedive, i gotta start logging to see if im running rich or something... *sigh* looks like a troubleshooting weekend for the car.

oh we knew damn well when we bought it. its just are mazda dealership was a mazda only dealer. then they merged with ford Lincoln and mercury (the big mistake) and we thought they ****** something up in the transfer only to find out mazda had the same thing.. so hopefully everything is fixed know and the dealer calls tomorrow.

oh yea and then the dumb service writer tryed to say mazda doesnt do free rentals. when we have had about 6 of them since we have had both cars.

we better not get a s*** rental.

the in service date and your purchase date could be different, but there shouldnt be two months... unless your car was a demo or something

kekeke, yah they happily make it easy to find.
Fyi, i dont know how concentrated the K&N solution was, so to play it safe i pretty much just eyeballed a 1:4 solution to water, respective ratio. you use quite a bit too, in order to fully immerse the filter. GL!

i can order two cleaning kits from AEM for roughly the same cost as the K&N kit, or the dealer one province over from me says they can get the OEM cleaning kit haha

lol, i went to my dealer recently, and the parts department guy says they dont cary any filter cleaning product.

then i mentioned its for the Mazdaspeed brand CAI that came with teh AEM filter & cleaning kit.
And he said, you cant clean the filters cause they are paper; not cloth!?!? im like, WTF? umm no.

(hand) so ill special order the AEM kits at sometime down the road from some other shop.

my dealer tells me the only accessories available are: floor mats, trunk mat, car cover, and something else....

yet i managed to buy the OEM sat radio, and OEM cai.....

i've emailed that dealer again to see if he can give me the part number

Qwik6,

glad you got her up and running. i personally didnt add any extra fuses into the mix on my setup. but they are a good failsafe.

now that the whip is back running. any new thoughts on your new setup. you still liking it better than draw thru?

thanks for telling me to run that wire to the front. I believe that was the main problem. Started must not have been grounding to the battery and hence not letting it charge the battery. you live and learn. Now I can run my grounding kit for the engine bay!

So far this blow through setup up is perfect. My fuel trims were a bit off with +13% at idle, and +6 at light throttle, and -3 at cruise. I Broke the car in right the past day and ran some datlogs before work today. I managed to adjust my MAF tables in ATR. I flashed to the new map and drove to work. So far the fuel trims are spot on a -1/ +3 variation. Once I get this right I will do some datalogs to make sure everything is good. But so far no knock retard. Even with my LTFT's at 50 miles being that way off, the STFT's were all pretty much close to 0. So the car seems to be learning the fuel trims much faster with this setup.

(drinks)

About the fuses. I found an audio shop today with 100amp fuses in the AGU style glass tube. He only had one and willl get more in a week. Now I can run the fuse back in line for safety. I got 4 80 amp fuses for spares to keep in the car in case something decides to blow on me. Now I can put my 100lb speaker box in the trunk... The car just feels soo much lighter now without it and plus with the battery in the back. I gave it some half throttle last night and this thing MOVES. (alright)
