Thanks for the help guys. Though it sucks since my internet has been down at the house.
Good news is I got the car running and as good as new again!
Last night I ran a 4 gauge wire from the batteries negative side up to the front where it was originally grounded with the other wire. Tried to start the car and all I heard was a single click. The battery was pretty low so I left it on the charger over night. Got up this morning and tried to crank it again. No luck. I thought the battery was bad so I switched it with the red top in my stealth and it still wouldnt crank. the other car was able to start with the battery in mine. So Its not the battery. I switched them back. Hooked it up again. So I took a test light to the 2 positive wires going into the engine bay. One was lit the other one wasnt. Came back to the trunk and tested again. One was lit after the fuse while the other wasnt. I looked at the fuse. it didnt appear to be blown so I replaced it anyways with a new one. Connected the battery again. The car turn over a few times but would not start and then stopped. I checked that fuse and it was blown.
Heres the thing. We have 90 amp altenators. I was told by the audio shop 2 80amp fuses on each line will be more than enough. In the engine bay I have a 100amp fuse on the starter wire. And a 80 amp fuse to the other wire. In the rear its two 80 amp fuses. So the 90 amp draw must have blow that one 80 amp on the starter power wire. I went ahead and put a distribution block in place of that fuse since I dont have another 100 amp fuse. she started right up.I turned all of my lights on and hit turn signals and brakes and my voltage didnt drop like before. I am good to go.
tenzo type m's nice.
drove my to the dealer with my dad behind me in his car (had fun the whole way there)
got BS'd by them saying that the car was out of warranty. because they said we bought the car on may 27th and not july 4th.
dad called mazda and in their records it says we bought it may 27th. so we fax them the org paper work and now we get to go back down their again woot!!!!.
we better not get a damn pos rental for going through all of this...

i see, so use the cleaning solution just toss the filter oil in the garbage? haha
aye, i used the K&N cleaning fluid for mine. Except i followed the AEM filter cleaning instructions as a full soak, instead of a simple spray and set. Did a dilution of the K&N cleaning fluid in water, and then followed the AEM cleaning soak instructions... worked great, tons of build up got cleaned off. the water was BLACK when i was done... and hot DAMN that filter took foreEVER to dry. it was a 90+ degree day too, sat it in the sun rotated every 30 min.
Ummm...so the paperwork you have @ home says otherwise I guess...
Dooooh....Mazda (hand)
oh we knew damn well when we bought it. its just are mazda dealership was a mazda only dealer. then they merged with ford Lincoln and mercury (the big mistake) and we thought they ****** something up in the transfer only to find out mazda had the same thing.. so hopefully everything is fixed know and the dealer calls tomorrow.
oh yea and then the dumb service writer tryed to say mazda doesnt do free rentals. when we have had about 6 of them since we have had both cars.
we better not get a s*** rental.
care to PM me those instructions if you have them?
*edit* never mind aparently they're in plain sight on the AEM website
kekeke, yah they happily make it easy to find.
Fyi, i dont know how concentrated the K&N solution was, so to play it safe i pretty much just eyeballed a 1:4 solution to water, respective ratio. you use quite a bit too, in order to fully immerse the filter. GL!
Qwik6,
glad you got her up and running. i personally didnt add any extra fuses into the mix on my setup. but they are a good failsafe.
now that the whip is back running. any new thoughts on your new setup. you still liking it better than draw thru?
