What do u hate about the P5?

The only faults that bother me:

-No standard intermittent wipers (upgradeable, but should be standard)
-Too small of a rear sway bar (again upgradeable, but not w/o strut upgrade)
-Stock tires too narrow. Should be at least a 205

Other than that all is good.

There is nothing I hate about my P5. There are some points to improve upon however...

1. Would be nice to have a rear cupholder.
2. Would be nice to have intermitted wipers.
3. Needs a little more power.
4. Stock tires are not that great and need more tire options. The closest to stock size is actually a 215/40/17.
5. Quite a bit of road noise.
6. Needs a deeper sounding horn.

I just hate the fact that they are so damn cheap now! Other then that, all is good!

i don't hate one thing about it. ya, i wish it had more power, but i don't hate the car because of that drawback. i'll tell you, i spent all weekend driving from ma to pa and back in my wifes "nice" suv, and when i got home and got back in my p5, it was like heaven!!!:) i just love driving this car!!!

When I had mine, I thought it was pretty good. I could use more power, but that is easily achievable with a little $$$. The stereo was, meh, but desect for stock. I found the hatch didn't close properly a few times, and my door ajar light didn't come on, but maybe that was just my car. Other than a few minor anal details, the car was great.

P.S. I only traded it so I could get a MAZDASPEED

the only bad things I can say about the car are:

1. The horn is pretty gay
2. It's a underpowered
3. The shifter of the auto w/ od looks nasty as hell
4. stock audio system sucks balls

But other then those things metioned above I love my P5 (yippy)

if I *have* to come up with things I hate about my P5, it would be:

1. Underpowered for my taste (and for it's "fast" looks).
2. There is no power "unlock" on any door except for the drivers door.

To be fair, I'd like to start a list of things I love, but I doubt you guys have enough time to read everything I would write :)

1. Long throws - fixed with Kartboy SS/bushings $100
2. Wimpy ass road runner horn - fixed with cheap horn from Autozone - $13
3. Crazy wheel hop - fixed with AWR urethane motor mount - $60
4. Road noise - not fixed yet, but will go nuts with dynamat on all panels one day
5. Lack of power - it's only missed sometimes, only real fix is turbo - $5-6K done right
6. Random rattles inside - it's always a work in progress as I find more and eliminate them with single sided padding
7. Gas mileage not too good
8. Paint blows - As soon as you buy it, take it somewhere and have them put on loads of clear coat, my hood is a disgrace and all doors have marks (chips) from other cars

The "issues" I had with my P5 were:

1. Stock stereo is weak - replaced all speakers, added amps, etc
2. Stock shifter not "tight" like rest of car - Kartboy SS/Bushings
3. Numerous rattles and squeeks... not much to do other than turn up volume on new stereo
4. Weak horn - bought freeway blaster horn
5. No rear cupholder
6. Roof rack too noisy above 75mph - took off crossbars
7. A/C had a hard time keeping up with heat from Florida summer when in traffic - got windows tinted to help
8. Fan speed for A/C only has four speeds... previous honda had at least twice that.

These are all nits. This is the best car I've owned. Later.

Please don't tell me why this is a good car, I'm sure there are plenty of reasons. I just want to know the BAD.

Thanks!

New owner here and over the last 4 years I have owned three new cars (long story).

I only have two problems with the 5 and that is road noise and lack of power. Another 50 horsepower would make me very happy.:D

The 1 to 2 shift and the weird lurching problem at low RPM's. Like when you tap the gas in 2nd under 2k rpm thing bucks like a bronco. It's easily avoidable by practice thoe.

I hate that it is TOO fun to drive. The P5 causes jealousy to surge by those whose cars guzzle gas and threaten to roll by taking turns going faster than 30 mph. The car is a threat to the well-being of society. I feel bad driving by other people's cars, but only for a second, then I smile and look for other people to show off to.

Yeah, the bucking bronco thing at low speeds is strange. The horn sounds pretty stupid, but you can't miss it. The shifter (stock) is not too impressive-I come from a long line of Honda onwers.
40 more horses would make this one hell of an unbelievable car. Now, the new 3 has that stronger motor. But, to get that motor, you need to get that body-yech!

The only thing i hate about my P5 is that i cant find a diecast 1:18 scale model of it anywhere!!!

I think this should really be everyones biggest complaint...

I would by them and paint them all the different colours of the P5..

my insignificant complaints of problems that can't be readily fixed:

- poor oil filter placement (oil filters on new honda accords and my old BMW 325i were easily reached).

- cloth panel on driver door (for those without leather) is starting to show signs of wear...after 25K miles.

- wide B and C pillars equals inevitable blind spots

- gearing can be better...more than 4000 RPM @ 80 MPH at 5th gear is acceptable for a high-revving honda, but not for our mazdas.

other than the above, most of the nitpicking and minor criticisms can be easily fixed with a slight adjustment or an aftermarket upgrade.

the only things I've changed on my car are the shifter knob (stock sucked...MOMO zebrano superanatomico is much much better) and the air filter (swapped it for a drop-in K&N panel filter). the tires will be swapped out for Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 205/50/16's once the stock tires are worn out.
