Del-sol(despite what you may think, Ive never seen a
stock one run better than 17)

My stock Del Sol VTEC ran 15.8. Modded it ran mid to low 13's. (no)

Scion xA or xB
VW TDI(with mods they can be very fast, stock they are not)
Focus ZX5

there are many more, but those are some that u see on a dailiy basis, and Im getting sick of typing anyways(lol)
Did they make non-VTEC Del Sols? I guess thats what I saw when i watched somehere around 10 of them(between all my visits to the track) run 17s. One ran a high 14 but it was turboed.

YATA! I beat a scion Xb today. I didn't know hte guy wanted to race till he took off at the light, one second later I was on the gas and eventually running past him. Me so happy.

yeah, the thing has the aerodynamics of a turd(prolly worse actually) and it has a whopping 105hp.(nobody)

hehe, jp :D

Yup Owned one myself, they cam in an S trim which was a 1.5 non VTEC, an SI trim which was a 1.6 SOHC VTEC, and what was just commonly refered to as the DOHC VTEC which was a 1.6.

Del Sol's are built sorta on the EG chassis. The DOHC VTEC del sol's were the first Honda to have a B16 in the states. Somewhat rare, the B16A3 just has different mounting points than the B16A2 commonly found in the 6th gen Civic Si. A DOHC VTEC del sol usually runs mid 15's.

So what you explained is basically a civic DX, EX, and Si...with a del slow body on it....

I must never have seen a DOHC VTEC before, cuz they are always SLOW.

Yeah, pretty much. Even the first year of the del sol was called the "Civic Del Sol." But yes, it's "almost" the same chassis, and definately is the same engines.

Del Sol S = DX = D15B7 = 102hp

Del Sol Si = EX = D16z6 = 127hp

Del Sol DOHC VTEC = *99-00 Civic SI = 160 hp.

*No B16 in 5th gen EG, which is what the Del Sol branched from.

a v6 stang is pretty quick with a manual...it has a lot of low end torque and can get moving fast...it must have been a power sapping crappy auto b/c i've seen slightly mod'd v6 stangs hang with gts

the p5 is an economy car wagon with a nice design and that annoying "zoom zoom" ad...it is 2900lbs on average and up to 3000 if you have all the options...it's engine dates back to the 80s and was used in ford probes and other rebadged ford/mazda cars and has had the same problems over time (trannies would not last too long, engine was rough, sub par gas mileage, low reving)...but the p5 chassis was a huge step with its great predictable handling

i remember stock times and getting beat out by minivans and even the low end suvs...my wife's 2k1 civic ex (auto) was faster...did several runs when she got it

if you want power from this engine there is only one option...forced induction...n/a there is just no significant gains (look at the wc proteges...engines don't last even 4 races where the rsx or bmws last several seasons)

yeah I beat most of the car i race. Sometimes it is the Driver who delivers the boost.I have a 02 Mp5 i like the handling on curves special I use 18inch rims.I hold to the ground.

If I wanted to drag...I would just borrow the wife's 2000 Maxima SE...or get in the 1994 Mazda RX7 Turbo that I have (in my dreams) (lol2)

Well i beat the 4 cylinder intergra. Barely lost to a 4.0 Wrangler sport. Beat like every daewoo at out there lol (lol2) . They do have a lil. But the dazzling good looks, and the good handling is what gets me most of my compliments.

Yeah, I do any racing in my IROC. It's faster than a shopping cart, and it looks pretty good, too. The P5 gets 30 mpg, so I don't really care how fast it is. (2thumbs)

I'm running a CAI and an MP3 ECU and I can run all over my buddies 98 EX Civic 5spd. I've also given a good race to some heavily modded Civics of all varieties. I may have gotten lucky, but I was putting down 108whp stock. haven't run it again yet since I got the mods. Probably will once I get the exhaust and header put on. They should give a nice boost.

Audi A4 wagon (non turbo, might've been turbo.. I heard a BOV, and I sure as hell don't have one)
<90 BMW 325
and a Caddy El Dorado .... ( around a looooooong sweeping turn ) (naughty)

My kills include a '89 Ford Escort and a new Ford Diesel truck. (rofl)

Plus other cars that were not really trying to race. In the BMW, totally different story! (thumb)

Cool avatar protegemp52000 Terence Stamp is the man.
