The 96-98 SN95 mustangs are dogs! They rate 145hp at the crank....

The newer 99+ V6 mustangs aren't too shabby though. At a dyno day, one hit 140whp and 190trq at the wheels. Good enough for a low 16's I'd hope. My friend took his mom's auto V6 stang to the track and hit a 16.4. (spin)

vr4's = slow unless heavily modified, truthfully dont waste your time racing anyone in a stock p5, they run what high 17's? goto a local track for a night and see what other cars are running those times, maybe theres a 5500 lb suv you could race...

Even medium modifieds are still running low 18's to high 17's. And you could also take out a VX Civic if you ever find one. Don't go racing Small SUV's. Or some Dually's. I was ***** by a couple of Jeeps and 4-runners, then last night I was rapes by a Dually spraying Propane.

I've raced all thiese types in my STOCK 5spd 02.5 PRO5 and the results.
I've only taken out civic VX's and DX's. Although I haven't gotten an LX or HX to race. I always lose to EX civics.
Focus' tend to be a descent match. But the really cheap base model motor that gets loaded down with all the interior options can be beaten. SVT Focus was a bit of a match.
Golf are pretty slow. G out and pick on a Turbo deisel. thats funny. But not a R-32 and watch out for VR-6 models VW. tend to be a bit quicker and they'll laugh.
Corrollas are slow in the 4cyl if they're older. I sadly raced an 02 Corolla-S automatic and it pulled me after 2nd gear all the way to 105mph in the end he totaled 1.5 / 2 car lengths. A stick would have been worse. <Good job Matt>
I've beaten some chevy 4x4 S10 around Peachtree city GA. A purple one with a white hood and black fender. not by more then a headlight at best, but i beat 'em. <HAHAH MARCIN!>

I just checked the Edmunds website, but they didn't show any manual V6 models. I guess that site is outdated or something. The main page on the link you just gave me shows an automatic transmission fluid dipstick.

I've raced modded EX's before. The 7th gen was a coupe, intake, exhaust, 5spd and a bunch of guages in it. From a roll, 60-110, and I won by about 2-3 cars each time. Dunno mang, keep racing 'em. (drive) (rockon)

They were my boys, i wasnt there ,**** it. But anyway i drive up there either in a red 97 prelude, or a 96 ac integra. I think once i get these headers i just ordered ill go up there. Theres a pic of my p5 in the thread ( what color does the p5 sport best ) Youll notice me if im up there

Yeah I was talking about show mods but he does have a full-catless cat-back and a SRI converted to a CAI. Nah it's a stick I'll post pics this weekend, he also got a flip up screen tv and dvd player the car is coming out sick he will start more engine work later since he has the 3.3L 225hp SEV6 5speed so it's pretty quick anyway I'll get you pics with his car.

People got jumped by people sitting on a porch? What kind of crap is that, so they did that just for fun? That's messed up.... I never saw a red 97 Prelude before there and there are many Integras so I wouldn't know if it was you or not.

Yeah..Solara V6 are fast. Autos can run hi 15s in 1/4 and manuals in the low 15s possibly even hi 14s w/ good tires.. I had a 99 that I traded in to get my P5. I still love the P5 though even how slow it is..

to truely answer the posed question....things need to be qualified.

most importantly it depends on what you are trying to HANG with the other car in....as in what type of competition. And two....the drivers of each car/vehicle.

for our cars will out handle nearly everything you come across on the road....under the right circumstances....you could take an older corvette on the right course where outright brute power is not an issue...but handling is. HOWEVER, if all you do is run on the highway....or do straight line running....don't count on coming out on top very often.

Solaras do have manual trannies but are rare. I know because I need one as a cheap replacement for my 91 MR2 turbo. They have better syncros and they geared higher. The tranny code is E153 or something like that.
