Well my girlfriend was nice enough to get me the INJEN CAI for christmas and of couse I put it in as soon as I saw it. My questions is now when I shift I hear this weird sound......Is that the turkey sound eveyone refers to.

that depends, what sound are you hearing? If it's an air like sound, it's the turkey, now, if you are hearing something that sounds mechanical in nature(metal clashing) then it is not the turkey...but you are probably hearing the turkey, 99.9%....oh, I just finished devouring a wonderful turkey for dinner. Have a nice one!

its the only thing I can possibly think of that could cause that sound.. and compressor surge has been proven 1000 times over to be bad... so unless its some mythical flutter device then I dont know what you want to call it

There a ton of threads on this very subject. And even if it was compressor surge, it would be covered under warranty. Plus, I've never heard of anyone having to be repaired for this supposed problem.

hah dude... think about it, why would it make that sound? i bet a car with turkey has more shaft play then one that doesnt have it.

well, plenty of turbo's have been replaced, for unknown resaons, and warrantee's dont last forever.

also, everyone I know of that has either dual BPV + BOV setups or a single high quality BOV have no turkey

simply replacing the BPV with an aftermarket one is not enough, becausee the nipple is the restriction.

Also remember that the turbo itself isn't even boosting at 50% stock. The only people having problems are the ones boosting 13-14 psi.

well, increase the pressure, increase the compressor surge, because that is THAT much more air to flow out that tiny nipple.

Very true, but I don't plan on keeping it beyond 35-40k miles. Too many cool cars coming out. I read on another thread that 2004 GTOs are going for as low as 23k!! And the new mustang GT looks nice, but I want to see how consumers are liking them.

yeah, any car with a big engine are so easy to make fast.... and an even larger aftermarket in the country for both engines than anything imported, even honda

I'm really interested in this GTO thing. A corvette drivetrain for 23k?! I hear it's because GM is trying to dump them, as the 2005 has 400hp.

GTOs, although I think they souldn't of named it that, unless they made it retro looking ala the mustang, are really kinda cool. and can be made quite fast, good for drifting, or whatever.
