Weird sound when boosting

They claim to have it fixed.

Said it was the bypass valve lines. They got hot, and brittle and were causing a leak. He also said they were replacing my catalytic convertor. I have no idea why they would do that too, unless what they claimed fixed it in fact didn't fix it.

They don't give loaners here, so I'd be without a car.

:(

When my boyfriend's car is in for service under warranty, the best they'll do is shuttle him home to get another of his own vehicles.

It's in your warranty, they HAVE to get you another vehicle. If they don't have loaners, they will have to get you a rental and Mazda will pay for it.

This is the US though, it looks like your in Canadia.

well guys i have the same problem i was told it was my ac compressor wheel rubbing on the compressor.. mine has all the same symptoms but doesnt do it as much, only when the car has been running for a while. so i recomened you get the wheel checked out.. and the stock bpv lines are shatty looking!

replace the vacuum lines with silicone ones and make sure your wastegate actuator is still in good shape. Mine broke and I replaced it with the atp turbo 8psi wastegate actuator.

Nope, boyfriend's car was under warranty too when he couldn't get one. They loaned him a sh*tbox off the used car lot once just to get him to stop being pissed at them.

But usually, no dice. They'll shuttle you home, or to work and back to the shop if it's all in the same day. They will definitely not provide a rental.

Jenn, read your warranty. They cannot deny you a car to drive while they're doing warranty work. If they do call Mazda CA and they'll straighten the dealership right out.

Do not take no for an answer.

yah i took my car into the dealer for the same sound.. their guru checked it out and said my msp ran like a champ.. but i said whats the noise? lol the dealer said it doesnt matter, your car is fine, we cant find anything wrong with it.. lol whatever.. dumbness.. they at least washed and cleaned my car :) but still... they said it could be a millions things

Thought I'd give everyone an update;

The dealer called today. They have replaced the wastegate, turbo, by-pass valve, all the lines, and the exhuast from the mid-pipe back. They cannot get rid of the screech, and said that an engineer told them that where the "pre-muffler" is connected the connecting pipe is larger and causes the screeching noise.

I'll get it back tommorow and let ya'll know if it is any better. The mechanic say's it no longer having a loss of power after replacing the by-pass valve but we'll see.

Damn that sucks they replaced everything and it still has the same problem. Well at least it has all new parts, if it really is the exhaust piping then just get an aftermarket exhaust and that should fix the problem.

you read my mind...

I was thinking turbo-back, and a new SMIC.

So, I got the car back.

The screech is kind of gone, but still there. They put a different style muffler on there. I guess it might be a little less sluggish now.

The clunk is gone. Turkeys at a higher RPM now. Maybe because the new by-pass, and wastegate???

They cleaned her real good though. Carpets are spotless, rims are shiny, tires are glossy, and the paint was gleaming.

All in all,

Thank you Mazda!!!!!

I will be calling Mazda NA and telling them how great the people at Mazda of Knoxville are.

i wish my mazda here was that good, ive had the worst experience with dealership with my mazda, they dont want to fix anything, and when they do "fix" something, another thing starts to go wrong the next day like they sabatoged it
