We lost a fellow brother last night...

New here, but wanted to pay my respects. How Shannon lived and ended his life is maybe the wake-up call we all need from time to time. My son is 5 months old and someday when he is ready to drive I will show him Shannon's pictures. Pictures of Shannon and of his car before and after. He needs to understand that machines have limits. If you step outside of those limits, you are no longer in control.... the machine is.... We have have to respect speed, respect machines, and most of all respect ourselves. Over the past hour, I've come to realize that Shannon left this world when he was beyond the limit. He pushed too far, but left a set of bounds behind for us all. We should thank Shannon for his sacrifice and rejoice that he still lives inside of us.

To the faithful departed..... R.I.P.

anything beyond 60mph is basically death anyways. we take the chance everyday.

I saw a body yesterday (7/3) hanging out of the cut away drivers door of an acura legend. Only the F.D. and the CHP were there. No ambulance. Kinda rattled me. I hate driving sometimes. But most of the time its gr8.

Happy 4th and drive safe.

I just stumbled upon this thread, and all I can say is wow. It is so horrible that a life can be taken away so violently. As was said before, he died driving his baby, and no one can take that away from him. Extended condolences to his family. I took a look at his MYSPACE, and even though I didn't know him, or even owned an MSP, I still couldn't help but want to tear up. He has passed, and someone still remembered his birthday, which was a month ago.

I am going to have an "In memory of 1338" sticker made up and put on my car. In my mind, it will only help to save me somehow. He loved MSP's, and I'm sure every MSP owner has his guardian angel with them everytime they turn the key.

I just joined the forums recently have had my msp for about 4 years now it is tragic how fraglie a thing life is.....dont take it for granted im sorry for the loss of those that were close to him but no matter what it hits home even in ohio. i dont know any of you personally but still have a common bond and feel like extended family!

wow this thread is old and I have heard about it the day it happened pretty much but first time I seen the pictures from it shizzle that had to be a fast drive

I'm getting mine today...
Past few months ive had 3 people ask me what "In Memory 1338" means and its good to know people are still noticing the sticker almost a year later.

So my question is, who still has it on their vehicle cause i certainly do.

Stickers still available anywhere? anyone have a pdf of it they'd like to share, I can get some made since I have a few connections.
My deepest condolensces to his family and I know he's in heaven smiling down on you and this community that supports us all.
I just saw this thread today, words cannot describe how I feel about what happened. Those pictures are hard to look at, but they need to be seen so it makes us think about our lives and the lives of others.
In Memory of 1338.

I bought my MSP with the sticker on it already but parts of it were chipped off and letters were missing. I just ordered a new one to replace it. It truly is a sad story. RIP 1338. Its hard to look at the photos. My car is 1379, looking the same just brings it into perspective :(

Just bought mine, I had heard something about 1338 but knew nothing of the story itself. Bought my MSP about a month ago.

Just ordered 2 stickers about 5 minutes ago.

The whole story is sad, and I know i've been extremely close to the same situation, and this has brought me back to earth on keeping myself safe, especially seeing the same car as mine.

RIP 1338 you will always be remembered in this community
