What's up guys, i keep getting water on the driver side everytime after it rains...i brought it to the garage he emptied a buch of leafs and dirt from behind the tire but i still keep getting water...i've been told it might be the a/c but i havent turned it on in a long time....any idea where it might be coming from...snow is coming soon ...i need help!!!

Do you have a sun\moon roof? Because all sun roofs leak, its normal , they have tiny drains on each side of the sun roof behind the tracks to prevent it from getting in the cabin of the car. if one of these drains are plugged sum wheres it could over flow , and leak down past your A pillar , pull your pillar off you might find something.

I ran this problem down a few months ago. I assume you are talking about water in the cabin. If you have a sunroof, roll it open and pour a little bit of water in the inner channel on each side (you'll see what I mean when you look). It should pee out just behind the front wheels on either side. If it doesn't you have a clog and need to blow it out with compressed air.

More likely, you have a windshield seal leak. Pull off the a-pillar trim and use a hose to run water over the windshield outside, starting at the top and running down the driver's side seal on the outside. Watch the a-pillar inside to see when the water runs down. If that's the issue, take it to a safelite and for $50 they will apply more sealant to the inside to deal with the leak. Good luck!

allright so i took it to mazda, aparently its a common problem with a batch of mazda's they did, its the isolation between the engine and the dashboard thats rotten. the guy charged me about 200$ to fix..

water leak

hi, i own a mazda millenia 2002 , i also have a water leak on the drivers side floor.. Not coming from sun roof, no visiable leak in car. Seems water is coming through floor board, carpet is wet just in front of seat.frame rail under this area fills with water... Any ideas ? apprciate the help.

$200!? That's a lot to fix something that they poorly designed. Stealership 1, us 0.

I had a similar problem with 02 Protege. What i noticed was that rain water was running on the outside of the A pillar and down along the plastic front door sill. With prolong rains the water seeps under the door sill through the sill clip holes and soaks the floor board and carpet. A strip of silicon around the clip holes was my solution. Hope that helps. Good luck.

hi , tks for your response, so your saying the door fills with water and seeps out thru these sill clip holes. It did occur during a long down pour, and I thought the door had water in it.(driverdoor)Thanks again !!!

Now this is what I noticed. I'm not saying it is the same for you, but ... With a constant down pour, rain water got in the crack (A pillar) between the front door and the rear.

The water some how got under door sill ( pic above ) and seeped through the holes where the clips would lock into the body of the car and soaked the carpet from beneath.

I hope this explains it better.

well i had thaugh that the water had stopped but it havent, lately it was just frozen...so the 200$ are gon to waste...but me its not from the sides, its clearly from the front i had taken out the carpet and saw that the water is comin in from under the front window...anyone in quebec know what to do i dont feel like spending 600$ at mazda for this...

Hi, Same problem on a 2002 P5. Body is almost perfect, just a little rust.
Paid a standard garage (100$) to fill rust cracks under the outside black plastic protector (where the wipers are installed) hoping it would solve the problem but it did not. I think the garagist was honest but the problem is more complex.
Water seems to come from the front under the winshield or on each side. Water gutters are clean. Next step is to go to a body shop!
Sell your P5 if you can. (I had 1cm of ice under my seat all winter). I also live in Quebec.

so i'm bringing this one back from the dead. did anyone get this fixed or find the real root of the problem? I have had a bit of rust forming around the windshield for a few years now, and never caused any issue but last year I went to the coin-op diy carwash and after really blasting the roof trim I got some water seeping through on the headliner just above the driver door. Since then, no issues, but I just came home from a few hours away and can see that it's rained, and went to hop into the Pro to make a quick run to the store and found the front driver side headliner just above the door is soaked straight back to the B-pillar. I'm super pissed about this because I just last week put a for sale sign on the car, and now I have to deal with this crap.

Anyone who has had this addressed and correctly repaired, please let me know what you did.

I am facing this problem now as well on my 2003 P5. Water leaking in on the drivers side foot well. Very frustrating. Anyone ever managed to get this fixed? What was the problem in the end?
