warranty voided by mazda rep

That's a choice you make for yourself, weigh the risks and decide to mod or not. I bought my MSP used with a 1k/30day, so there wasn't any drawback to modding.

I will say, most of the stuff I've done to mod the car makes it MORE reliable/run better or replaces OEM parts that weren't all that great to begin with. It just so happens to often result in a car that's more fun to drive. I can't speak for the speed3, but on the MSP, a fair number of the bolt-ons address what I consider to be design flaws.

Sure, you have nothing to lose if your warranty is already voided. But if you're deciding between modding your car and not, you have a lot to lose.

I'm glad that you've taken cases to court and won, really. But if my car has a busted motor and the dealer voids my warranty, I have to go pay for a rental car out of pocket, or pay for the repair out of pocket, until I go to court. I stand a much better chance if I have a lawyer, which I'll have to pay for, and there's a good chance that I don't get back all the money that I threw at the situation. Moreover I have to take a huge amount of time to deal with the BS and take time off of work.

Seriously, if you will represent me in a case of violation of Moss-Magnuson in the event a dealer illegally voids my warranty and can guarantee that your lawyers fees and all associated fees like loss of time on the job/rental will be covered in the settlement... I'll go buy an intake right now. :D You got nothing to lose!

If your dealer has you that worried about losing your warranty coverage, then I would not modify my car...

Exactly! It's one thing to put lowering springs and a catback and be given s*** about it when your a/c starts acting up.
