Warranty Question.

I bought my car last September (over a year ago). The previous owner bought the extended warranty. I had it transfered over to us and now I cant find the papers they sent with the warranty in my name. When i take it in for warranty work will i need those papers? Is there anyway I can get replacement papers? Also, if i take it in for warranty work will they give me a loner car to drive?

There are a few small problems with it that need fixed. There is a rattle in the rear end. They sub and rear speakers in the deck are not working.

The warranty info should be on file at the mazda dealer, I have the extended warranty on mine and i just bring it in and they fix the problem without seeing anything its in their computer system. But why don't you just give the mazda dealer a call it doesn't hurt to make sure before you bring her in for service.

Do you know who the extended warranty was through? Most of the time it's not offered through Mazda, but a third party. If you know the name, then give them a call and explain your situation. Not sure how extended warranties work though when you actually have to take the car in.

There aren't any rear speakers in the deck. Your rear speakers on in the rear doors. If the sub is not working, check to see if the amplifier is powered on. You can tell because there is a triangle in the Kenwood name that will light up red. If that's on and there is no sound, the RCA wires behind the radio might not be hooked up.

Oh, I kind of suspected their might not be speakers in the deck because they are in the door. The red light on the triangle is on. The sub will cut in every now and then. Ive never had the radio out of this car and have not looked at how it is removed. Awhile ago the previous owner had the entire audio system stolen out of it. The dealer replaced it, and the head unit isn't the stock model. Its an upgraded model the dealer put in.

If the sub is cutting in and out, it's likely something wrong with the wires. I would check the speaker wires from the amp to the sub first, since they are out in the open. Also check the RCA wires going into the amp. Since it's cutting in and out it's likely not a problem with the RCA wires behind the radio. There could also be a short in the remote wire (the one that tells the amp to turn on) that would cause the amp to turn on and off while driving.

I don't know to much about stereo stuff. I will just wait and let them fix it. I need to take it in for the bushings anyway. They squeak in the rear end. They have quit for now, but they do it when its warm for some reason. I guess its the bushings.

I just had mine in the shop for 3 days and the warranty company paid $25 a day for a rental for me... not sure if all warranty's are the same... I bought the most expensive one so that might be a perk of it.
