Greasing up the pins is a requirement for me every time I replace pads. I used to have a 96 Civic and I never did it. Well eventually the caliper fused with the pin probably because of water debris and heat. Needless to say I had to dish out money for new calipers. Moral of the story: lube up your caliper pins every time you replace your pads.
