Vibrant Exhaust ?'s

Sweet....good to hear!

Bam, WBO2 now in the mysterious additional downpipe bung. Yay no more engine codes and not running in open loop because of faults. Thanks again for the tips and pics, +1 rep.

Bam, figured out why there is an extra bung. Mazda uses the same J-pipe in all the Proteges. If you look at this picture you'll see that this is where the second O2 sensor goes on the regular Protege. Mystery solved.

Ah...cool.

Well, looks like I'm getting the Vibrant exhaust. The shop I frequent uses Vibrant parts, and a custom 3" came to be just over $1300 and it would be exactly the same as the Vibrant. So, looks like I'm going with that one. Now I just gotta wait for it.

Picked up the exhaust today. The tip has a ding in it as does the muffler. Also, I think I am missing the gasket and hardware between the cat-pipe and the mid-pipe. I got the gasket and hardware for the mid-pipe and axle-back connection, so I figured it would come with it for each connection. Just curious.

Yeah you should have gotten all the gaskets and the wires to extend the O2 sensor.

The only gasket it doesnt come with is the one that goes between the s & j pipe. I just used the stock one.

I got the wires and the wire connectors, missing the second gasket and bolts. Hopefully Crossover can sort this out before the weekend of the 2nd because I was planning on doing the install that weekend.

I got most of the ding out of the muffler tip, at least enough so I could get the silencer out of the muffler. I think I can put the blame on Vibrant for a crappy packing job and FedEx for crappy handling.

You got the Vibrant from Sam at Crossover Auto?? If you did he will take care of you. Sam is a good guy. I've bought alot of stuff from him.

Can you post a pic of the dents?

I'm sure crossover will take good care of you!

They aren't really dents, just slight dings. I am guessing the flanges banged up against the muffler. The tip had a slight ding in it, which prevented the silencer from coming out. I used a hammer and with a few slight whacks straightened it out. The other ding is on the canister, no big deal. I'm just impressed at the quality of materials and craftsmanship. Coming from the NA walk of life, I have never seen a 3" exhaust before. All I can say is, holy massive.

Yeah...when I got mine, I was like that too. Just wow...that is huge.

You'll really like it a lot.

Pics??
Vibrant sound like a great exhaust.
Get some audio dile when you are done

Yeah when I purchased mine, FedEx did the crappiest most ghetto packaging I had ever seen. When I tried to drag the box into my garage, the tape opened and my exhaust just about fell outta the box, but I luckily caught it and there were holes all over the damn thing. Jerks at FedEx!

No s***, fix that sig. Has to be something with the font size, lol.

FYI, FedEx does not PACK the boxes, they only SHIP the boxes. Vibrant is the one to blame for the crappy taping, stapling, and only bubble wrapping of the exhaust (cardboard around the tip and muffler would have worked wonders in preventing dings). FedEx is the one to blame for the box being ripped and torn to s*** when you get it.

Edit: I'll take pictures, but no audio, I have no way of recording.

just installed my vibrant exhaust yesterday. besides grinding the nuts down, the system is amazing. good sound, good gains, and good looks.
