V6 Protege

oh yeah? how about a MS3 engine swap and tranny?

our engine bay is bigger than the regular 3, so if they can fit that much of a monster on the MS3 then what about us?

someone mentioned an AWD drivetrain earlier in this thread, anyone know any more about this? I dont care how much it costs...I want it I want it I want it!!!!!

i think it would be harder to drop the 3's motor because of the electronics and esp the throttle.

i would love to swap into a KL series engine if someone made a wiring harness

it comes from the jdm sport 20 model protege 5.. its a 2.0l awd .. imo it would be better to get a really good lsd , will be the equivlent. due to the added weight..

things u need
the tranny, driveshaft, rear end and all accessories and the jdm gas tank, exhaust will also have to be rerouted to the side..

talk to corksport, they have all the things u need to buy to convert it..

The ideas been passed around for a while. Its a strait foward swap parts wise, its the v6 from the 626

So does it bolt directly into our current engine mounts or what?

I every one, is my car on this tread.

is NOT a photoshop (headshake , i drove it yesterday during 400km and run very-well.

i can't wait to test it on a race track may 21 (headbang)

nice car there tintin

how hard was the swap? i want to do this as a project if it isnt too hard. at least an NA version, i would also need a tranny swap too...

Do the motor and transmission bolt right in?

I'd be interested in knowing if anyone has done a rwd convo on a protege?
there is a red P5 race car with a miata drivetrain. The engine was mounted inline, though, so it definitely was a lot of work.

anyone got a link to it? I have searched and searched and can't find it again :(

so does the stock msp turbo bolt on the 626 v6? and how hard was that swap... i would love to get some info... so either i do a swap this winter or i do a engine build... what are you guys thinkning?

nope, full custome manifolds are needed to bolt a turbo(any turbo) to the v6... hence, a v6 has 3 cylinders per head.. protege i4 has 4 on one head... will not match up...
