Hi Everyone,
I just got my ION FMIC and had the shop order me a P5 radiator, now they are telling me it will not bolt right on. And to modify it to work will cost in upwards of 300.00! I just got off the phone w/ the parts dep and was told that there are as many as 6 different P5 radiators! Maybe I have the wrong one, or is it the case that the p5 radiators are not PLUG and PLAY?

Could really use the help of someone that actually has a p5 radiator installed, and the part number of the radiator they used.

My car will be sitting until i find out, or go back to the stock radiator :(

Thanks in advance,
G~

yea, they shoudn't have problems. it'll bolt up to the stock radiator support with just new mounting holes on the driver's side.

Can you give me a part #? The lady at the parts dept said they have 6 different radiators for the 2.0 p5

I was told by a mazda dealerships parts dept. thats there was like 6 different styles for the p5 aswell.

ok, so im down to the 03 p5 radiator for the 5 speed 2.0 with AC, but now I need to know if i need the one for the sport suspention or non s.s.

A part number would be awesome. I want to keep it as close to stock as i can so i can use my stock fans.

Thanks

I really am starting to believe that no one has this setup on this board. :(
Please let me know if you or anyone you know is running a p5 radiator in their speed.

gixermixer Drop MSPDAVE125 a PM. He has the AWR radiator upgrade for the MP3/P5 in his MSP along w/ our FMIC.
That still leaves me wondering which of the 4 different p5 STOCK radiators for 2003 will work, and if the stock fans are the same, or close to the same that they will just bolt on. Until i get the part numbers for everything, im pretty much screwed.

As do I...but don't drop me any PMs because I'm a cranky bastard (crazy)

I have the AWR radiator and fan setup. It BARELY fits. The only other thing I had to buy was the P5 top rad supports ($12 from local Mazda dealer).

Peace...(hippy)

lol hang on man when i get to work i will give u the part number u need. and yes it should be the one with sport suspension. and tell the lady she doesnt know what she is talking about on the 6 rad it could be, reason being the part numbers are like u said auto, manual, sport sup, or not. the other two are for a normal protege not a p5.

Thanks! Can i also get a part number for the support?

Yeah the AWR rad was a bit shady on the fitment. 2 SPAL fans were required aswell. But when I polished it again, it looks sooooo pimp!

I'm guessing the sport suspension equates to hook up for the MSP's oil cooler. That was the first conflict I could think of when I was hashing this same plan out in my head.

u should be ordering a zm39-15-200c and which support u need a price or part number on? if u mean the support bracket to hold the rad it is zl01-15-250 for the left one. price on the rad should be $204.85 and bracket $8.70

all you really need is the p/n for the p5 top rad mounts. the msp top rad mounts are different. the bottom will drop right in w/no issues at all.
