Upgrading fuel pump

GB isn't a bad idea actually. Seems like there's quite a few of us that are in need of this upgrade. Ken, make it happen :)

i just ordered one from pg a few days ago and want to get it in asap...is the install difficult for the average person (ive done all mods in sig on my own) or should it be done professionally? ive been under the back seat to disconnect and reconnect the electrical wires but thats it. Fuel lines kind of scare me more than bolt ons do...

The lines have quick disconnect clips, so don't be scared of them. I haven't done it myself, but I don't imagine it to be extremely difficult. Disconnect the electrical plugs and start the car then let it die. That will get rid of most of the fuel in the lines, then you can just use the quick disconnects and pull out the pump.

Looking at the manual it doesn't look like it's held in by much. I see the two fuel lines, and one bolt. It's probably more than that, but it doesn't look all that bad.

Price prob. depends on how many people want one.

dont mean to thread jack(srry) But I went with a FMIC and a new ATP WGA now I am getting a fuel cut. Do you think that a new pump would help my problems? 68k on the car and I am sure it has the OEM fuel pump.

Looking at getting in on this... maybe someone can push me over the edge (or tell me to STFU and stop cluttering the thread... lol)

I recently switched to an air-water IC setup, and ever since I've been tending to push lean at higher rpms like the OP, at least as indicated by a narrowband... though I'm throwing it on a dyno tomorrow. I haven't been able to get a clear idea of whether these pumps are prone to failing slowly. My gut tells me I'd probably be better off getting some tuning, but the idea of fixing the problem at a fraction of the price makes me want to double-check.

^^^ I don't think there was ever an issue with the pumps Ken sells. It's just that as with the injector o-rings, there's the possibility that the fuel line o-ring can get torn during uninstall/install. It's highly unlikely these things are tearing due to pressure. If you're nervous, buy a new one and use that when you install the pump.
