Upgraded Brakes?

Potential Scammer!
Does anyone know if they make stainless steel brake lines for the MSP? Would lines for a regular protege fit? Also do we share our calipers and rotors with any other mazda? If so wouldn't it be possible to use those high performance pads and rotors on our cars? Thanks for any input! Evan

not sure about the brakes but check out the mazdaformance car, they got a stop-tech system on theirs if i'm not mistaken. maybe it'll fit an msp.

btw, how's the power output with the cams?

if the bolt pattern is the same for the wheels rotors and calipers should be interchangable correct? if so track down some OEM RX-7 hardware from the 3rd gens and make that swap. the FD's did have the most powerful breaking in their time just slightly behind the 911 Carerra. works for me.

or even better, track down some of the 99' spec 7 stuff and get those rotors and calipers. i think the rotors are 12" and slotted

Rear wheel drive and front wheel drive. No dice. Stop tech is sooooo sweet, for 2 grand.

ok so i'm not a genious when it comes to brakes so i must be missing something. a rotor is a rotor right? and a caliper is a caliper? so they're not innerchangable? what the dilleo?

Does anyone have the part # for the pads and rotors? If I can get those I should be able to find out if we use the same ones as another model. Any one else have any ideas on how to go about doing this?

Cal. yes. Rotors maybe but prob not. It has to do with the driveshafts. but like you said if the bolt to the spindle then it all good. You can get some custom brackets made but if you r doing that much trouble go with 300zx brakes. oh yeah by no means am i a brake guru

The Stoptech rotor upgrade does not cost two grand. I have seen it for sale for twelve hundred dollars. I have written to them to ask if it will work on our cars (we have bigger rotors and calipers then the MP3 and ABS) or if it will not work. I have still not heard back from them. But if I ever do, I'll let you guys know. Also, if a RX7 kit will fit, why not go with some nice Brembos?

I was thinking of taking the 4-piston calipers from my RX-7 but I don't want 2 cars out of commission for more than a day. the MSP brake hoses are the same as regular proteges
