UnZipHer Mazda2 Build Thread

Speaking of blog writeups, UnZipHer, are you planning on bringing the car to any of the big meets down here in CA any time? (Mazfest, maybe?) It'd be cool to throw some pics of your car in one of my updates on the site I write for.

Mazfest is a possibility depending if Corksport heads down as they are a local shop.

thanks for posting this up

You've gone global!

haha global is good!

must say wow. very nice love it. convinced me to add the air ride in my p5 now.. once the funds are there lol

can't wait to see an air ride P5

I am loving the process! Can't wait to see the blacked out housings. I have a green one and I am planning some matte black vinyl wrap here and there to offset the green some.

UnZipHer I have to say that your 2 is the benchmark right now. My Mazda 2 is the same color as yours but I'm going in different direction with mine as I'm setting up my 2 for some track day fun at Nelson's Ledges Road Coarse. I got a bunch of parts waiting for me back home. I'm currently serving a military deployment and I can't start my prject until the end of July.

So far I have installed...

- Corksport SRI
- Corksport High flow exhaust (second catalyst delete)
- Corksport stubby Antenna

Parts I have waiting for me back home...

- Corksport Rear Torsion Bar
- Corksport Front sway bar
- Corksport Light weight crank shaft pulley
- Good-Win-Racing Dog bone engine mount
- Bilstein Coilover suspension system
- BLACK 15x7.5 6UL 949 Racing wheels (with 949 lug nuts, 949 valves, and TPMS sensors)
- 205/50/R15 Bridgestone Potenza RE-11's

I also plan on blacking out my stock Mazda emblems and fog light bezels, and I have a bunch of decals to stick on to my 2.

As soon as I get home and build my 2 I'll be posting pics as well as a full review of the components I will be installing.

@nerd: thank you! That's an awesome idea for vinyl!

@tom: Thank you as well! To hear I am the benchmark is great! You're going in an awesome directiOn! I know Corksport appreciates your business, let me know how all those parts work out!

You going to use that to wrap all the silver parts inside the car? (i.e gauge rings, etc.)

something exremely common in houston. but the wheels are termed swangas. you can get swangas/gorillaz/orangutans. and they all are wire wheels that stick out about 3 inches (whats legal width wise from the side of a car)

Another great move. The headlights look killer. Please post up some detail shots/close-ups when you have a chance, I'd love to see more. And the bezels painted black really ties things up. Well done, very well done.
