gonna try and make this fit.. its about and inch narrower than the truck dash, but a little cutting and stretching and some fiberglass should do the trick..

just waiting on a cherry picker...

hard to see, but here is the rx7 rack and pinion... i think i can make it work for my rhd yay
4471790284_9a65d0a5fc_b.jpg

4471014977_763a290de4_b.jpg

and i found a hell of a deal on a 110 welder, so i bought that today.. $100 works like a champ
4471007009_1dea51b3cc_b.jpg

now i just have to decide whether to raise my mounts up for a little more clearance and do a new tranny tunnel for turbo clearance and steering clearance then mock up my new mani and my inner fenders...

the fun begins!

yeah... well.... thats what you get for cheating! You had a buddy help you lift the motor and you didnt even have fenders yet alone a rad support on the truck!! lol jk man
well, im sure this isnt the only time this engine will be going in.. after i get it running its gotta come back out to possibly get rebuilt and cleaned up...

and it was no way close to as heavy as the stock engine to lift out... sure wish i had a cherry picker..

It's definately coming together nice...the harness is what would scare me the most!
ya, the wiring looks scary, but im getting rid of a lot of it. shouldnt be too bad!

for u corksport..

heres a cellphone pic since thats all i have right now and not much progress today cuz of the bad weather, but heres the mounts installed..

They look pretty straightforward. Will they keep the oil pan higher than the frame?

a guy named adam that has done the swap before in a 4wd. these were just prototype mounts so i didnt have to cut my tranny tunnel and he thought the clearance would be be good, but with me running rack and pinion now i need them a little higher..

he said he would rebuild them, but idk if u wanna go through that hassle when i could easily make them myself especially now that i have the mounts and i can just make them work.

idk, it all depends, i guess i still need to do a little work on it this weekend and see what needs to be done before i go jumping to co0nclusions on stuff not fitting, but im also concerned about running 3 inch exhaust on this truck also.

only time will tell what ill run into next lol

The mounts don't look too bad in the picture. I need to bust the engine out of my truck and rebuild it. No compression on the back rotor.

-Derrick

dont get me wrong, they are great quality mounts, but im just not sure theyre gonna work for what i need them to do ya know?

they may be for sale soon if u want them lol..

if not pm me and i can put u in touch with the guy if theyre something u might be interested in..

well i spoke to a guy last night that i have been talking to for a few months now about possibly rebuilding my engine for me.

he is in commerce city and is very reputable, so now i just have to decide if i want to put the engine in and see if there are problems and then take it out or take it up to him and have him tear into it and see what it needs...

any suggestions?

i would build it my self but u have to have certain rotary specific tools to do the job right and get everything lined up right. i would hate to mess it up since it is my first one and i cant really afford to buy another one right now ya know?

well i was bored, and im sick, so i snapped a few pics..
