ya, i cant wait..

the little things are finally starting to come together which is good cuz the show season is starting and i need this thing mobile even if it doesnt run..

well, its getting closer to running. put all the new wheels on and laid it back flat on the ground.

laid out all of the wiring in the driveway and go the courage to start wiring it up crudely to get it running.

still havent gotten my buddy over here to start on the turbo mani yet which is driving me nuts since its and integral part of this build, but thats another story...

on to the updates

found all my ecu plugs and ran them through the firewall and the driver side through the window for now..

the nice thing is is that i am not running a heater or any other nuisances in the cab besides temp, speedo, tach and a couple other things, so most of this wiring will be going bye bye(thank god).

for now i am just plugging everything back in good enough to get it running then i will worry about tucking the wires and getting rid of the wiring i dont need. right no its a pain in the ass going through every part and finding the plug for it and labeling what it goes to like i should have done when i tore it apart. but eh, i was in a hurry...

u live and learn...

it looks alot scarier than it actually is. just time consuming... lots of beer, but if people would stop calling me and texting me i would be a lot happier lol..

wiring laid out and trying to find where all the plugs go. i wont need a lot of this under the hood either and then i have to splice into a lot of stuff from the truck, so this should be the fun part. also inding places to tuck all this s*** will be fun too...

the only bling on the truck right now lol. drives me crazy to put a dirty ass engine in, but gotta make sure it runs and everything works like it should before i pull it out and detail it up. possible rebuild still also..

just a random shot now since i have room in the garage with the vw gone..
i actually like these caddy wheels. they look good tucked, maybe even better than the 18's...

well hopefully i get back out in the garage today. money is kinda tight right now. im starrting my new job monday(yay no more ******* coal mining), so hopefully the funds start rolling in ad i sell some more parts!

enjoy the updates. maybe more tonight or tomorrow. happy mothers day girls :D

With your build post it is really poking me to get my B2600 going. I wonder how tough it would be to dump it as it is a 4wd model. I figure a 400 hp two rotor engine and 4wd would make for a nutty fast truck.

Were those still live front axles? If so, you'd really have to set the engine back in the bay to clear the axle! Would be pretty sweet though. Could always go the opposite direction - I wonder how good a rotary would be as a mudder's engine?

The front end runs CVs. The truck has a 6 port 13B in it already but the motor is shot. I was told by the person I purchased the truck from it did awesome 4wd low burnouts.

I figure with the turbo gearbox it should be able to take the 300-400hp

Hey man Im also going to be doing this swap soon to my truck that is on 20s but Im going to go back to my z71s for a little while. Im also doing a 13b with upgraded 3mm apex seals and intake/exhaust porting and a single turbo conversion to a t-67.

I got a few questions for you though on this swap..

Where do I get the motor/trans mounts at?

Will a front mount intercooler fit?

Whats up with the custom turbo mani is because of the conversion or the truck being bagged?

How easy was the dash to fit in there? I have a wrecked in the rear turbo 2 car.

I live in Bossier city,La which is not very far from joserotary.com which Jose is known for being one of the best rotary tuners in the us, About 3 hours from me is Ari at rotary performance (website is rx7.com) he is who Im getting the 3mm apex seals from. Both of these guys are very very good and know their stuff.

If you need anything let me know man and Ill see what I can do.

alright.

well, the way the engine mounts in there, the turbo would hit the frame rails and also the a arms, so the turbo needs to be relocated unless u use the chassis from an rx7(suspension and everything). this has nothing to do with the truck being bagged although the concern of the heat from the turbo on the tires is a factor i guess...

a front mount can always be fitted with fabrication. also an air/water intercooler is a good possibility also..

the mounts can be made urself or u can go with the motivefab.com mounts that i used. my mounts were custom one offs for this truck due to the consideration with the oil pan location. the tranny mount will be custom made all because it depends on what truck ur putting it in and also the tranny being used...

the dash fits pretty well. i will need to bring the door panels into the dash a bit, and also still need to weld in some mounting points, but i will get on that project after the engine fires up...

i will eventually be upgrading turbo and such lkater on after i get this beast running and can finish fabrication. so hopefully next winter it will get a full rebuild and some upgrades...

my steering box is stuck at customs in california...

they wont ship it the rest of the way because the box is leaking a "hazmat" liquid(power steering fluid) and i recieved a letter from the usps/customs and they wont let it be shipped any further. all the numbers i have that they sent me in the letter for contacts dont work and im waiting to hear back on what i can do if anything to get the part to my doorstep...

i swear, nothing can ever go right for me with anything...

This is a great project in which you put a lot of your time and it still needs a lot of patience. Just keep thinking positively and dont let it get you down!

Well that blows!

I guess the shipper didn't triple bag up the steering gear.

Where in Cali is it stuck? I will be in LA tomorrow.

well i think i got the whole steering box issue figured out so hopefully it will be in my possession by next week...

sweet man I been thinking on this swap and since my motor blew up and I have a wrecked in rear rx7 t2 I was going to rebuild it and swap it into the truck with some goodies on it.
