Turbo Rotary Mazda B2600i Minitruck Build!

wow there is really no room for the turbo.Any plans on a custom manifold????
its in the works and also a full engine overhaul...

i knew there was going to be clearance issues with the mani, so ive been researching that for months lol...

like on the exit of the exhaust? there wont be much room since my exhaust will dump right out the back of the cab wall and it wont fit in the tranny tunnel with 3 inch exhaust and my driveline...

imma figure a way to raise it with a custom mani. my only worry is heatsoak...

Is there any way to run it in the front of the engine. Also if your looking for exhaust and turbo flanges check out racingbeat.com. i know thwy have them

everything i have read says not to run the turbo up front cuz of heat soak, but im not daily driving this or drag racing it, so idk if that will be much of a problem.

i plan on bringing the turbo up and forward just enough to clear the frame and the a arms when the truck is layed out..

I wonder if there are pictures of the Racingbeat truck that had the 13B in it around. It was running a stock engine I believe.

If your doing all that custom work might as well go with a custom FMIC setup if you ask me and your heatsoak problem should be nill.

yessir!

well i will get some pics up, but i kind of have updates...

been trying to get the engine mounted, but its hitting the firewall, so i have been doing some cutting and fitting.

i am going to recess the firewall an inch or so to make the engine rest back in the firewall for better clearance and just to make it right. also started cleaning up everything and painting a few things.

very tedious and not a lot of big updates, but hoepfully get this thing mounted tomorrow and figure out the rest of this to get it running...

updates with pictures...

painted my brakes and a arms. just cleaning s*** up. also painted my calipers..

tore the engine down to a bare keg to clean things up plus i was having fitment issues. thought it was the firewall, but it turned out to be the mounts.

anyway, started polishing my IM...

so like i said had some fitment issues so i cut out the firewall since thats what i thought the problem was, but turns out it is the mounts. so i brought the engine forward an inch or so but now i am having issues with the engine being true to the frame and being womperjod in the engine compartment, so i have to work on that now. also, then engine sits too low, so i might be rebuilding a tranny tunnel after all..

this is how i ended up mounting it for now til i can weld up new brackets. the mounts were designed to fit between the old crossmember mounts, but dont, so i will have to make new mounting points for the moints and possibly new mounts..

this is how i cut the firewall for fitment. it will end up probably going back to how it was before unless i decide to put a design in it or something...

not happy about this at all...

i have a bunch more pics and random shots that ill post later if anyone is interested..

hopefully get back out in the garage tomorrow and figure some mounting s*** out and finish polishing my IM and things...

also, my rack and pinion is not going to work, so i am still looking for a rhd steering box. might look into getting a flaming river box or something of that nature. either way, its gonna be expensive as hell..

nope. the steering box will be easier and cleaner. i think i found one in australia. only time will tell..

itll cost almost $300 to get it here for a 25-50 dollar part...

gotta do whatcha gotta do though i guess..
