170 to the wheels. considering the car makes slightly less than 100 to the wheels, you're looking at about 200 to the crank, versus the stock 130. a good 70 hp increase.jflo said:find a used BEGI turbo kit...they up power to about 170

the flyin protege kit is the same kit as the begi turbo kit which we carry. as of right now FP is doing group buys onlyNJP5Guy said:you might still be able to get a kit from flyinprotege even though flyinmiata is shutting down the protege aspect of the site. $3500 gives just over 160hp to the wheels and in the 170lb/ft tque area at the wheels. act fast though. there is quite a bit of work being done now on this 'dead' kit, btw. MAMotorsports has made a superb larger intercooler kit and downpipe and is working on an MPI Tuner based solution for fuel control. I am working towards a Haltech based fuel control similar to what HiBoost has
i own the kit - its the same. the original kits, some came with a Garrett turbo and others came with a Turbonetics, both are identically designed T3 turbos. those of us who bought the original BEGi got access to all the eventual upgrades (fuel pump, voltage clamp, downpipe) which are sold in the kit standard now.NJP5Guy said:i thought they might be the same kit but when i read everything that came with it there are some differences. the turbo itself is not the same(dif company) and some other parts are dif.

would you by chance have the F10 and harness for sale separately?ddogg777 said:I have a brand new Hiboost kit for sale. Here is the thread with current pricing. http://www.msprotege.com/forum/showthread.php?t=66246
The kit with E6X is only $3550 and it will give you up to 210+ hp. Or you can buy everything I have for sell and boost up to 300+ hp. That price is $4200.
I assume that BEGi also uses the flyin protege style clamps and intercooler hoses aswell?Captain KRM P5 said:i own the kit - its the same. the original kits, some came with a Garrett turbo and others came with a Turbonetics, both are identically designed T3 turbos. those of us who bought the original BEGi got access to all the eventual upgrades (fuel pump, voltage clamp, downpipe) which are sold in the kit standard now.
to my knowledge they do, which as I am sure you know were much nicer clamps1sty said:I assume that BEGi also uses the flyin protege style clamps and intercooler hoses aswell?
Yeah I ordered them. I was also wondering if Corky started to use the FP oval nuts aswell? I didn't like them. They totaly locked on and could never be removed. It made servicing anything a real b****.Captain KRM P5 said:to my knowledge they do, which as I am sure you know were much nicer clamps![]()
Sorry, my kit has the E6X, the f10 is fuel only.Captain KRM P5 said:would you by chance have the F10 and harness for sale separately?

i have no intention of really ever going above 10 psi and Juan and SPD are confident that the F10 with the standard HiBoost map will work fine with my turbo setup. i've reached my "personal goal/limit" you might say on this car. i wouldn't start messing with the timing unless I had a block with forged everything like a Wagner built block or a Linuxracr engine that I could drop into my car, and I'm at the point where, at least on this car, I've spent enough money - time to save/spend for other big things. Having the F10 solution will basically allow me to get rid of the AFPR and fuel pump, get a smoother powerband, better fuel economy and maybe even a little more power. I'm not out to win drag races, snap axles, sear apart clutches and get 10 miles to the gallon and keep aiming for more and more powerddogg777 said:REally? Why fuel only?
