Turbo Help?

i have no intention of really ever going above 10 psi and Juan and SPD are confident that the F10 with the standard HiBoost map will work fine with my turbo setup. i've reached my "personal goal/limit" you might say on this car. i wouldn't start messing with the timing unless I had a block with forged everything like a Wagner built block or a Linuxracr engine that I could drop into my car, and I'm at the point where, at least on this car, I've spent enough money - time to save/spend for other big things. Having the F10 solution will basically allow me to get rid of the AFPR and fuel pump, get a smoother powerband, better fuel economy and maybe even a little more power. I'm not out to win drag races, snap axles, sear apart clutches and get 10 miles to the gallon and keep aiming for more and more power just happy having a very quick daily driver.

I think just like you...its THAT FEAR to break the motor again...Ive been there 2 times, 2 rebuilds.
Now I just want this to be a reliable and a bit faster turbo protege5, BUUUTTTT sometimes...its in my blood, I need to race it but the fear inside me its blocking me.

I just need to get rid of either the turbo, or my fear or maybe a happy medium?

You guys make no sense. If you wanted to care for your engine and not break it, you SHOULD be getting fuel and timing control. Just because you get the E6X doesn't mean you HAVE TO boost more....

there is no need to mess with the stock timing below 10 psi on BEGi style or HiBoost style turbo kit. This is a well proven fact from both companies. If you needed to mess with the stock timing then neither HiBoost nor BEGi would have included fuel only solutions with thier basic turbo kits. Buying an e6x when you don't need the functionality of one makes no sense.

normally i too would agree, but I was on the phone with Juan from HiBoost yesterday who told me there would be no need for me to buy the E6X if I didn't plan on going above 10 psi. Seeing his work on the FS engine I'd have to say I trust his judgement

yes I can. they just discontinued the old F10 in favor of the F10X and Juan has no more old F10s lying around. he's going to be completing the testing of the new unit this week just to be sure that there are no compatibility issues with the wiring or the maps.
