Transmission issue?

Hey guys... need some insight.

First off, I have a Automatic 2003 P5... a couple months ago I was driving down the road at a steady speed when all of a sudden my car "jerked" out of nowhere... it felt like a quick downshift/upshift of the transmission. It wasn't too rough though, but still very noticeable. Then the other day I was driving along at about 60 or 70 km/h (about 40-45mph) when it happened again... but this time it was much more violent and harsh. You could really feel the car jerk... my fiance actually thought I had hit the brakes to scare her or something, so that gives you an idea of how bad it was.

This has only happen these two times, and I cannot duplicate the problem and have no idea what caused it. Do you think it's something mechanical with the tranny itself, or something electrical causing the car to do some type of quick shifting? I plan on taking it in the Mazda to have them scan the codes and take a look at it, but thought I'd post here for some insight first. Has this happened to anyone else? is it a known problem with the Automatics/Tiptronics?

Go your nearest auto lube place and get your transmission flushed and replenished. Make sure you get it flushed. I had this happen and that solved the problem. Good Luck.

I already had my tranny fluid flushed and replaced at 50K (30K miles)... the issue has happened after that... I checked the fluid to make sure and all looks good. ???

i had this happen to me also. Did your car throw a cel? mine did, so i took it to mazda and they said it was a bad ecu. So they replaced it under warranty and ive been driving really smooth ever since.

Well, Since you changed and flushed the tranny there shouldn't be a problem, I would take it to the stealership to get it checked out if you still have a warranty. Good Luck.

check your spark plugs and wires and maybe EGR valve.
