God Bless you all.
Never heard of this, but it sounds pretty interesting. How can I do this? I'd love to marry some of my friends.Slider said:Did you know that legally I can marry people in every state in the country.
(hump)
I am a minister of the Universal Life Church. (hippy)
I did it to kind of point my finger and laugh at organized religion, if I can become an ordained minister on the internet and get a card and certificate and if (by law) I can marry anyone in the United States that just makes organized religion even more of a joke (to me). (cool)
Do you believe in same sex marriages? Would you marry a gay/lesbian couple if they asked you to?orangezoom said:And just so you realize I do beleave that a marriage is a covenant between the married couple and God.
Actually a lot of states let you do it if you are a notary, that is how I do them, the lowest form of public office.Mach 3.5 Turbo said:Never heard of this, but it sounds pretty interesting. How can I do this? I'd love to marry some of my friends.
Weird. I'd just like to be called "father" or "reverend" cuz I think it would be kinda funny. Not to offend anyone if they think this is some honored distinction that should be earned. I hate titles, I think it's segregationalist and elitist. . . but I digress. Thanks for letting me know your opinions on gay marriage. I don't really know my feelings on the subject yet. I guess I lean toward allowing them for governmental reasons (taxes, insurance, hospital visitations, etc.), but I think the term marriage means man and woman. Are you guys who are opposed to gay marriage opposed to legalized civil unions with the same governmental benefits? Separation of church and state anyone? Just for you guys' information, I go to a church every week or three. I don't read the bible, and I rarely pray. My beliefs are too complicated to express here, but I think that everyone should accepts somone else's views unless they're harmful to them or others (extremist views), including atheist viewpoints.orangezoom said:Actually a lot of states let you do it if you are a notary, that is how I do them, the lowest form of public office.
