Timing belt/valve adjustment???? cost

So I pretty much know how much parts are gonna cost and I have a freind from work who is going to do my timing belt for me. bUt I am wondering how difficult a valve adjustment is on the msp. I have heard the head has to come off. I dont believe that. Something about how the cams have to come out and alot of other stuff. Bottome line is if this isnt going to cost a s*** ton I will end up keeping my car. But if it is Im sayying bye bye to my msp.
