For CA24409(a): Inmproper use of high beams.
Is CA that poor that they need money form bs tickets as this?

I was flashing them to tell a freind he passed the turn (red arrow). All the sudden, i get his search light in my face, most likely a "stop that". I didnt knotice it was a cop, and figured it was some a hole, so continued trying to signal my friend. all the sudden, (five-0). Backed up and waited for me, the through on the lights, and gave me the ticket.

Would think they would have better things to do...but hell, income is income...and you were "technically" breaking a traffic law...Can't use your lights or horn for fun....only for emergencies...

I think signaling someone to turn doesn't qualify as fun. Its trying to get someones attention. It's distracting to be sure, but if it went down like he said it did, the officer should have given him a break. There are FAR worse offenses. But I get what you're saying.

Same here... either my eyesight is getting REALLY sensitive, or people are getting dumber (is that even possible?) and driving around middle of the day with their high beams on. Strange thing... it happens to me more in the middle of the day than it does as night. Maybe the Blue High Beam indicator light isn't big/bright enough for the aging population?

Crazy thing... aren't most cars wired so that the high beams only come on when the low beams have been turned on? For instance, you can flash the high beams without low beams on, but the high beams can't be turned on permanently without the low beams on? If so, that means people have turned on their low beams, in the middle of a sunny day, then also turned on the high beams... sheesh!

Oh, and don't get me started on people driving around in dry/no fog conditions with their rear fog light on.... sigh.... most probably don't even know they have a rear fog light. Sigh....

Headlights are there to see and to be seen. I turn them on every time I'm in the car. It's a habit, really, but not one I really feel the need to break. I might wear them out a bit faster, but on cloudy days, in the rain, in the fog, people can see me. Everyone thinks running lights are sufficient - they aren't. Following behind someone in a dark car who has left their headlights off because it's not before dawn or after dusk in the middle of a rain storm makes it hard to see them, and it's frustrating.

Sure it's a waste on a sunny day, but I'd rather burn out a bulb or two than forget to turn my lights on one day when I need them and get rear ended or worse because someone can't see me.

No complaints from me for someone running their headlights during the day; I used to do the same in previous cars. I, myself, am good about turning on lights in any kind of low light conditions. There are times when really dark storm clouds roll in but no rain and I turn on my heads lights. In fact, my wife will testify I am pretty annoyed when I see people in low light conditions without their head lights on.

My only point is that running headlights in the middle of a sunny day isn't the norm (but fine to do so) -- so it confuses me why 1) they have their headlights on in the first place (when it's a bright sunny day) but mostly 2) why the heck do they have their brights on as well, or their rear fog light in the middle of day??? Brights are just that.... bright. Sure, it isn't as bad during the day as compared to night time, but they're still bright and still annoying!

I think what ultimately annoys me is the impression (that I get) that so many people don't have a freaking clue about their car and give SOOOO little thought to what they are doing when they are driving; it annoys me that I have to share the roads with people who really have so little concern for everyone else on the road. 'What, my tires are completely bald and dry rotted???' 'Uh, what's that? I can't hear you over the squeal of my completely worn brakes.' 'Uh, both of my brakes lights are not working?' 'Oh, are my brights on blinding you?' 'Huh, my wipers are still on maximum speed even though it stopped raning an hour ago.' 'Oh, you mean we're not suppose to go 20 under the speed limit in the left lane while yip yapping on the cell phone?' Sigh... sorry for the completely off topic post. I'll shut up now.
