The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

I hate that when people think I'm going to send PayPal payments as gifts. Not a chance, buddy. I'd rather pay extra to the seller to cover his precious PayPal fee and have the insurance should he decide he doesn't want to ship the part.

PayPal fees are only 2.89% + $0.30 per transaction, I don't why everyone makes a big deal about it...

In Nate's scenario it is only $8ish. Who cares?! Lol.

It's the principle of it. Stated up front, I'm fine with it, never discussed until I'm ready to send you money irks me. Plus having no protection

When I was buying my new RPF1's I was trying to just agree on a set price, shipped. But the seller was going to take them to a UPS store to have them packed and shipped and I knew they would charge a s*** load for that lame service. SO I didn't want to pay for the sellers laziness. To pack and ship 4 wheels w/tires from NY to OH was ~$274.00. I said no way I'm paying that much. So we went back and forth via email while he was at UPS. He both got irritated enough and agree on a final price of $900 shipped, $50 more than what we agreed on the day before. And he kept wanting me to send it as a gift. How about no.

someone agrees that they will ship something then they agree that they will eat the paypal fees. Just adjust your asking price to compensate for it. I hate being asked to pay for the fees. Its the cost of doing business online, eat it sucka!

I've sent it as a gift numerous times, but only to good friends that I've bought stuff from before.

Goofballs who are no names on a forum, and are assholes about "firm" prices, and are assholes about the fees can go suck a dick. Nate, I'd personally forward his PM requesting fees to the marketplace administrator, then send the agreed price. When he doesn't ship it, raise hell, and report his ass to paypal.

I don't have tolerance for that s***.

One of my favorite parts of the Lime Rock Weekend. The Porsche GT3 race at the hill. I got a lot of pics of it, but someone got a good 13 min video. Watch for the wheelies.

People seem to think it was shot down by Russia or Pro-Russian Separatists. Pretty crazy.

Different car. If you can, why not? Though I don't see the need for constant attention. It'll likely win but that says more about the voters than about Phil. OMGTHEFDISTHEBESTCARINTHEWORLD!

At first people here were all abuzz because the 777 uses our engines (2X GE90-115B). Part of me is glad it wasn't engine failure because I'm one of the technical leads for that engine.

In all likelihood it was the Separatists. The Ukranian government has no reason to be firing anti-aircraft missiles as the Separatists have no air force to speak of whereas the Separatists have already taken down a number of Ukranian aircraft using the same weaponry. Although I suppose it's possible it could have been the Ukranian forces thinking it was some kind of Russion incursion. I think the bigger question is how are the Separatists gaining access to advanced, Soviet-era weaponry. Is it captured Ukranian stuff or is it being supplied by the Russians. If it's the latter, Russia's in for some more economic hurt.

Apparently this is the third time a large commercial aircraft has been destroyed by anti-aircraft missiles. Believe it or not the U.S. and U.S.S.R were responsible for the other two.

Just a reminder, as couple of us will be at the Bier Haus to harass Pablo while he's working tonight around 8pm.
