I got the car back last night and I've put about 50 miles on the car so far without any issues. No CEL and no misfires.
My plugs are good. I don't know that it w was the gas there. But #2 you were out in the track when it was wet I was not
Ya I was out on-track when it drizzled for like 2 minutes.
Unless it rained more after I left I wouldn't even consider what it did raining. More of like an annoying drizzle. It wasn't hard enough to get the track wet when I was there.
It didn't rain at all after you left. And I agree, it barely drizzled, but just enough to get turn 1 slightly slippery.
#2, after you get the car back you should bring it over so we can check compression and see where you are at.
Thanks, I'll have to stop over so we can do that. The issue is finding the time to do it since I'm packing tonight and tomorrow, then moving this weekend. Do you think I should do it ASAP? Or is it safe to wait until next week?
Is it possible the water has been there for a while and my issue only happened from something due to racing? On the Mazda tech sheet, it only mentions water in cylinder 1 plug hole. I swear the service manager said they found it in cylinders 1 and 4 when I talked to him over the phone, but maybe I misheard him. Why would water be in 1 and not any of the others??
Which cylinder would be considered #1? My guess is that's 1st cylinder starting at the left side of the motor right? Now that I think about it, I do remember something odd I saw when I replaced my spark plugs a little over 1 year ago. The first cylinder spark plug and spark plug hole on the left had some corrosion on it (no standing water though). I'm glad I save all of my phone pics, found the ones I took of it. This was back when I still had a TMIC at 70k miles. I noticed the TMIC core covered all of the cylinders, except the far left one.
Here's what cylinder 1 looked like on 4/2012:
The other 3 looked perfectly clean like this:
I never experienced any misfires back then so I just cleaned it out and went on my way.
