The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

Ok, been a busy morning for me already! Washed and waxed the MSP, washed Lauri's hatch and the MS3! Lauri drove the MS3 last night, for the first time since the AP was installed@ Road America. Needless to say she quickly found out how much of a difference the stage 1 map makes.

I guess now the car is even more fun to drive for her!

I have a mishimoto catch can here for cheap if you want it. All you have to get is the hoses off ebay and then a check valve

I've learned through the years to just have everything you need instead of trying to piece things together. I'm not saying it wouldn't be a great deal or a bad product, just my experience has taught me to buy everything new from a company so that if there is a problem, things should be easily fixed or replaced. I've had some bad luck in the past. (SVT Brake swap anyone?)

Devon, Jake did the install in my OCC and I have the JBR EGR delete. If you order from Jamie, tell him we are personal friends. It may save you money.

Or raise the cost ;) I may look into it as a winter project more than anything. Or when Marc has one of those famous install days ;)

I'm just seeing a whole bunch of DISI's with 'clogged' EGR's and intake runners just covered in nasty stuff. I want this car to last & not have to constantly be cleaning my EGR system.

What a beautiful day! Air is off and did some yard work along with sanding the last winter steelie (what a PITA). I then cleaned them up and they are drying off in the driveway.

You guys/gals are pretty active in this thread so figured I'd throw this out to get opinions. A co-worker with a 2011 PRHT MX-5 was having a clunk from the DS rear and took it to the dealer yesterday. They told him that the strut is leaking and he needs to replace both rears for a mere $800. Car has 48K miles and he bought a 100K mile bumper to bumper warranty when he bought the car new. Now I know they are a wear item but at that mileage and the fact they are leaking, shouldn't they be covered as defective under the warranty?

take it to another dealer. if you get the same result, call Mazda USA and explain the situation. Worst they'll tell you is no

I'll have to double check with him on whom the warranty is through. I'm thinking it might be a third party company. Will def. recommend another dealer and call to Corp. though.

Just picked up a 99 miata sport... Woot

Sweet....now post up some pics! :)

Big thanks to John for helping me empty about 12-13 gallons of bad fuel from my car tonight. Filled up at a get go in the middle of nowhere heading home from work, got massive amounts of KR and the car ran like s***. Probably some 87 being sold as 93...should have been sleeping hours ago, But just got home. At least its running right now!

Ill see you guys tomorrow!!

Back from my road trip! It was great to get away for a couple days. Friday went to Ikea and got bedroom furniture, just need to get a new mattress this weekend when everyone has their Labor Day sales. Friday night took Kennedy to her first Reds' game. She seemed to have a good time, didn't fuss at all and stayed awake the whole game.

Today we went to where Amber's grandparent's and great grandparent's old homestead on the south end of 377. She hasn't been there since she was little so it was great for her. The current owner was a really nice guy and let us walk around the property and let us come in and see all the work he's done to the house. Then we went to the north end of 377 and met some of my kin folk on my mom's side. Went on a mini tour of where my great grandparents and other family lived and where some of them live now. Also got to see where the land I inherited was. Pretty cool stuff, learned a lot about my family from that area and that I'm part Native American. The guy that took us on the tour had a '57 Buick Roadmaster that just needs a little body work and some paint and a beautiful '52 Willies that is original except for a new paint job.

Cliff notes:
-Bed room furniture from Ikea
-Kennedy's first Reds game
-Met distant family and saw where my land is
-'57 Buick Roadmaster & unmolested '52 Willies

Glad we got you fixed up! At least now I'll force myself to remember how the stupid low pressure fuel line disconnects, can't believe I forgot and just kept burning myself on the valve cover trying to make it work. (rlaugh)
Wow, Sho and El Diablo's avatars look almost identical.

Yeah, just two different Gen's at the same place on the same day, lol.

I did not unpack the car until this morning, had a quick bite to eat, a couple of beers, a shower and then off to bed...a long damn day to say the least. I will be instructing @ the Autointerests event @ Mid-Ohio!
