The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

i know the basics of it, hand the card off to the guy "filming" he non nonchalantly walks away while the girl is shuffling the cards, then goes inside and plants the card in the spot seen just as the other guy throws the cards...

still quite impressive and hard as hell to pull off the slight of hand that flawlessly

Speaking of Le Chive, Fez, did you go to that Cleveland meet up? What was it like? I don't really understand them. Sounds like a bunch of dudes standing around going "Sooo, yep. You like beer? Yeah, me too. cool.... cool. Boobs? Yep. Me too... yep... cool. Welp, Keep calm and Chive on, bro.".

Didn't make it. Didn't want to go alone, Levi bailed and another friends I wanted to drag with me bailed.

HP+ on my car sound like a school bus pulling to a bus stop, btw. It's really annoying, especially if you are pulling up next to a babe.

I just laughed so hard at this.

Evan if they let you on track with a chipped/cracked winshield it might not be a bad deal. The extra stress from body flex will most likely cause more damage and make having to replace it easier to take.
I put HPS pads on the 3 and don't like them much until they get heated up, but they don't squeal, and very little dust.
I tested this with my 2. I had a good crack going across my windshield and went out to Gingerman. It didn't change one bit. Stayed in the exact same spot. I was going to work one cold morning and turned the defrost on and the crack went ALL the way across lol. I literally went "ee!" as I turned and watched it happen lol.

Ok I am late to the game but I had to work all day sorry. I use Hawk hp+ on the Rx7 for street driving and Autox. But I was getting brake fad within about 3 laps @ Mid-Ohio so I went to Hawk Blues in the Front and Blacks in the rear. after my first session out I removed the Blacks from the rear and replaced the with HP+ pads because it made the rear of the car loose. BTW my Rx7 with me in it is about 1900#. On the Miata HP+ but I don't track that car the brakes don't Squeel on the Miata because I use a lot of brake pad lube.

Thanks for the input guys. I may look into running 2 sets of pads. I think I'm going to get the Carbotech AX6 pads and try them out for AutoX and the road. I may find that they're sufficient for HPDE track days. I'm not planning on doing a lot of HPDE this year. Tires are so expensive and the HPDEs eat up a ton of tread.

Also got a quick question about AutoX. If you have a crack in your windshield, do they still allow you to run? Last week, when I got a flat tire on the highway, I was slowly moving over to the right lane to exit the highway. Once I was in the right lane, a semi in front of me kicked up a rock that nailed my windshield. It created a nasty stone chip (3rd chip within the past 2 months!). I went out to my car to go eat lunch and the chip turned into a nasty crack that spans horizontally from the passenger side to about 1/3 the way across the windshield. So...I'll have to get the windshield replaced now. My car insurance has glass coverage, but a $500 deductible. I did a quick quote on SafeLite and it's like $390 LOL fml.

I've had asmall crack in my windshield since the first Mid-Ohio fun run over 2years ago from Ivan car down those crap roads we took. They have no problem with it at autoX, but I don't know abot track events. I'm hoping it's ok for the T&T event at Mid-Ohio on June 10th.

This just proves how much of a n00b I am on track. My RX-7 had 1,000 lbs on yours and it took twice as much time to cause brake fade. Good to know about the Blues/Blacks. I figured I'd start with Black/Black because of the much larger brakes up front and go from there.

I never got any brake squeal with the HP+ but they were loud. Sounded kind of like a low, metallic grinding/scraping noise. I always use plenty of that "Brake-Quiet" stuff on the backs of the pads.

going home to see the fam, do some fishing and maybe if im lucky go catch the sprint cars on saturday night... should be a good weekend

I get to help my father in law swap transmission on a 2001 Ford Windstar, it dropped last Sunday night. I also get to paint the baby's room tonight.

Other than that, no

My Dad sold his 01 Windstar about 2 months ago for 400 dollars after it sat for over a year after the transmission went out on it. An does anybody know what year make and model is the guys car that got hit and he is looking for a rear bumper to replace it?

Good Morning Everybody!!! Anything good going on this weekend?

It's going to be a Miata weekend...

- Remove A/C (got the parts from Mazda yesterday for this).
- Install new radiator and coolant hoses.
- Install competition motor mounts.

I can't wait to get it done, it will be the last work I'm going to do on it for a while! (2thumbs)
