The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

You can use these indoors?

we've used ours in our garage and in a storage unit...we keep it back by the garage door, pointed in to the garage, and we leave the door cracked by a few feet to let the fumes escape.

Ah that's a good idea. I don't have a walk in door to my garage that leads outside unfortunately.

I've used the torpedo heater in my barn before but it is so large that the fumes have no effect.

just put it by the garage door and leave it cracked a bit...ours is an attached garage with only the garage door as the entrance

Good idea. I will do that next time I need to change my oil or something. I try to avoid doing anything outside in the winter if at all possible.

I have these. They make winter working tolerable. Those plus a hoodie, and I'm usually sweating by the time I'm done.

I can't be around a torpedo heater at all. Fumes **** with my lungs. I cough uncontrollably.

Man how is it 3:15pm? Feels like I just got to work...

I only got 4 hours of sleep last night (yay kids!)... so it feels like I've been here for decades... and I've got 3 hours to go :-/

4:30 can't get here fast enough for me, but then it's off to the other job tonight. At least school is over.

It would rock if I had gotten more stuff done today :(

oh i know, i feel like ive gotten nothing done either but yet a project is finished and ready to go out a day early and ive only got a half hour to go... its been a great thursday haha

what are possible reasons for a car to turn over but not start?

I've come up with bad fuel pump, blown fuse, loose or disconected wire, bad coil pack, the car just hating me, karma, loose vaccum line, melted wires, sugar in the gas tank. That's all I can come up with at the moment.

When I was leaving job#1 the cart started like normal, started backing out of my spot and the car stalled and wouldn't restart. Atleast I got my free AAA tow in before the year was over. Now debating on turning it back to stock depending what's wrong.

Start simple. Check your fuses and anything else in the bay that you can easily see/check. If it's turning over but not firing up it might not be getting spark/fuel. Does it want to fire up, like it's starting to turn over?

And don't talk about turning it back to stock. That's crazy talk. :P

it will turn over and do a little stumble every now and then, but that's very short. I'm starting with fuses, and go from there.

Definitely check that all the sensors are plugged in. I missed my idle control solenoid once and it drove me nuts for almost a half hour till I opened my eyes and saw the wire hanging there (that was more stalling than not turning over though).

My guess is a fuel/spark issue. Start simple then work your way from there. Just be sure to stop when you get to the going back to stock stage.
