The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

What causes that, then? I mean I thought it was because it runs rich, but is it a characteristic of standalones or something where it just dumps a bunch of fuel when the throttle closes? Or does it have to do more with the exhaust and how unrestricted it is, or some combo of these things?

Well... it depends. Exhaust temperature and excess fuel can do it. That picture is more than likely due to someone bouncing off of the rev limiter in a boosted car. Boost = extra fuel. Limiter = no spark, meaning more excess fuel going thru the engine. Hot exhaust + open air = explosion.

^ lol. On a different note tho for those of you that follow UFC but didnt see the fights tonite, Jon jones beat the s*** out of quentin rampage Jackson and submitted him with a rear naked choke in the 4th rd, retaining the light heavyweight champion belt. It was one of the best fights I've seen in a while!

Josh and I got to hang out with some local cats today, Will and Dave. Good meeting you, Will! Awesome garage you've got, buddy. And thanks again to Dave for bleeding Josh's brakes and for the fluid. And for all the drivers mod help and info, buddy. We're going to get you on track again soon, turkey. ;)

Dave probably saved me about $1700 in new seats, harness bar and 5-point seat belts with a cool trick with the factory belts I didn't know. If you twist the lap belt once then tuck it into the buckle, the pull the shoulder belt quickly so it catches, you can pull your seat into the belt and it will stay locked in place. Brilliant!

Great meeting Will and Dave today as well! Sucks the season's winding down and everyone goes into hibernation mode, but there's still plenty going on in the next month to look forward to!

there are also these things called CG Locks that lock the bottom in so you dont have to wrap it around the buckle... ive had mine for 2 years now and cant imagine not having it

The trick not only locks the bottom but also the shoulder belt and its free!!!

I like my method...slide the seat back 2-3 clicks, then sit up straight. I then use both hands to pull the shoulder belt towards the door to remove as much slack as I can. I then quickly yank it so it locks. After that, I keep holding it so it stays locked, then slide the seat back the 2-3 clicks into your normal driving position.

Levi: I've seen those locks before and I know some people swear by them. I don't think they're that expensive either.

that's what I do, and I think the cam lock is like $30

Evan and Peach, that's the trick Dave showed to us. Maybe I just described it a little wonky. But pretty darn clever indeed.

so... my sister is not having a good time with her 6... she now says the oil light flashed while she was driving, and the CEL came on. She'll have the code checked later, and I told her to check the oil level when she gets out of class. Any ideas?
