The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

How much track time did you get at BeaveRun for $180/170?

Good news regarding Spicy!

Don't forget about the break-in period for the rebuilt motor, Marlon. But I'm glad the work is coming along. Looking forward to seeing/hearing her again.

I put on my dads new wheels on "Mayhem". Damn are the fugly. I'm sure Ivan will agree. I'll post a pic when I get home.

in 1 & 2 at least an hour, 3 you can get well over 1 1/2 hours as the day winds down...unless some guy loses a motor....but they did get the last session in!!!

I got about 3 or 4 sessions, somewhere around 20-25 minutes each session. Very smooth track with some fun turns and elevation changes.

Break-in period is really subjective depending on who you talk to. Some say 1000 miles, some say 500 miles, some say 5 minutes. I don't know which is right, as I've seen all 3. But that's one subject that I don't think you'll ever get a "right" answer for.

Just got off of the phone with Eric Meyer he just put his motor on the dyno and ran it for 3 hours straight.....rotary of course..but who knows

yeah, Pettit Racing suggests 3000 miles under 5k RPMs to properly break in a rotary... weird

I've wondered about that myself. I've read a lot of different things, too. It seems to be like asking "what oil is best?"

I was trying my best to be tame after the swap, but that didn't last long... I just changed my oil after about 300miles and all is well. :)

Hoping to get my EGR fixed before this sunday run. Sucks though knowing that my job is gone in a couple weeks and have to rely on a small part time job and school loans. Oh well life goes on:)

$13,5 for the engine, another $10k in wiring, mounts, ECU, tuning...

Yep... don't think that's going to happen. Would be a helluva nice down payment for a house...

That's badass. But I like how eBay auctions always say "No reserve" but then set the beginning auction price. Isn't that essentially the "reserve" price? Sillyheads. Baddass nonetheless. :)

I would love to have a 20B idle in a street car. Some cat would be looking at you funny at the red light and I would just say "What?". Haha

True dat. I haven't even replaced the sub in my P5 since the swap. I keep forgetting to turn the stereo up. If I had a 20B I would delete the stereo and just listen to the track Mazda composed called "20B - skeet, skeet, skeet".

A house is tempting, though..

Ugh. I can't stand that fake carbon fiber 3M wrap stuff. I'm a bit of a hypocrite since I have the CF mirror covers that actually add weight. But that wrap stuff is always an eyesore to me. I would rather see rusted metal or faded plastic than that fake wrap. End rant. My apologies. Some cat just posted a pic of his fender he wrapped in that fake stuff. Ack.
