The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

Oh and my car is in the shop :( I was getting a binding noise turning the wheels and going over bumps after about 5-10 miles driving. I saw grease leaked out around they inner tie rod end boot so I hope its just the tie rod. I didnt see any thin/red fluid and my power stearing fluid is WNL.

If you were with the flow of traffic, I can understand. If you were just by yourself on solo road.... Not so much.

I was on I-77 southbound

Check the FS section or put a post that you need some stock suspension pieces. Most people are willing to dump them for cheap, but you may have to buy the complete set...

Maybe look up Mazmart down here in GA for parts... They tend to have better prices for stock parts (if in stock) and I know some people who can help.

I will check that out
thanks

This pic Evan #2 snapped of me pretty much sums up my feelings of slow drivers in the left lane...
flip.jpg

LMAO... I remember that

Unfortunately, I know a LOT of people with the mindset if they are at the speed limit then they ride the left lane. No matter how many people pass them on the right or flash lights. They feel if they are doing the speed limit, they are ok to be in the left lane.

Now, I'm an advocate of obeying speed laws but I also know to move the **** over for traffic. (See my FB post about the douche in PA that wrecked and I probably saved his life.) Then there is also speed of traffic and following the general flow which if I don't feel comfy, I move to the right lane.

My friend Jim is like that. He is a slow-ass driver and always winds up in the left lane. I use to yell at him all the time to get in the right lane.

BTW my right rear shock went on the speed3 sat or sun I had a puddle of oil under it. I need new shocks any recomondations for stock replacements? I don't want coilovers or adjustable shocks. I don't race or auto-x the car it only my daily driver with no mods.

I was in the market for aftermarket, but I couldn't really find any OEM replacement shocks. I think the dealer, used from a forum or Mazmart, or just drive it like I did for another 15,000 miles are your only options!

Back from cabo and a married man. :)
Nice! Congrats! Hope everything went well, although it is sad to hear about your car!

Wow, I wish people down here just went the speed limit. It's not unusual to pass people going 50-55 mi/hr on a 65 mi/hr road in broad daylight. I came from VA where the norm is 10 mi/hr over the posted speed limit.

I tend to do 5 mi/hr over the speed limit - EVERYWHERE. I've found that any faster really doesn't get you to your destination any faster (seriously, do the math) and fuel economy really starts to suffer at speeds above 60 mi/hr. The only thing that bothers me more than people moving slowly in the fast lane is people tail-gating when (1) I'm already exceeding the speed limit and (2) I have no where else to go. A good example is in a neighborhood. I never go over 30 mi/hr in a neighborhood - PERIOD! Tailgating me in a neighborhood will insure I drop my speed to exactly 25 mi/hr. Another example is when I'm passing on a highway. I NEVER ride in the left lane and only use it to pass. So when I'm going 70 mi/hr passing the turd in the center lane going 55 mi/hr do not ride up on my ass and have the common courtesy to wait the 10 seconds it takes me to overtake the slow car and get out of your way. /rant

what i hate....

(i usually go 5-8mph over on the highway... i obey the limits in town)

on the highway, im in the left lane, catching up to some slower traffic in the middle lane...

just as im about to get there, the last guy gets in the left lane to pass..... and really doesnt go much faster. now im going to ride your ass, or get all the was over into the right lane if it is empty. they could have just waited the 10 seconds for me to pass, especially when there is nobody behind me.

also, nobody obeys the construction speed limits. the same people go 65 through the 50mph construction and stay 65 when it is 70. so ill slow down, because i really dont need a 20 over ticket, and they will start passing me. when we are out of the construction, i blow by them again.

Glad I didn't drive the Miata to work today; I had to stock clothes. The wrist is still feeling pretty strong, though.

Another hot one today. Lovin it. I have no problem with the heat. Just means more time to play with my toys :)

Its not the heat so much as the humidity that i hate.... I was in st. Louis a few years ago, it was 96 and low humidity, felt like low 80s here... I was envious of that haha

I was out in Boulder, CO last weekend and it's the same. It was really funny to see "Temperature: 84, Feels Like: 80". But geez, I was just out walking around the building while I talked to a shop and I was sweating bullets!

I'm trying to figure out vac lines in the garage and start sweating instantly, needless to say not much is getting done outside, just little things I can do inside

Talk about drives, I have traveled and driven in a lot of states, overall Ohio has the worse drivers ever! I hate it when people turn on the turn signal and just start coming over, when there is not ample room. I also hat the idiots that start hitting their brakes, because other drivers are braking 1/4 to 1/2 mile away....stupid....now if I can get the newspaper readers make up artist and the like to do these things at home....my commute would go a lot better!

I always hate it when the person in front of me hits the brakes because the person beside them did

95 degrees sucked when cutting, grinding, and welding a 4 piece VW Passat rear body panel in today at work, but it was nice to hit the pool when I got home!! :)

Would anyone happen to know any shops in the Akron area the specialize in Mazda's. Im looking to rebuild me P5's 2.0L motor. Keeping it all NA.
