The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

Photo280.jpg

crappy cell phone teaser pic of the new wheel color :D

Woah, is your wheel bent on the left side or just the pic?

I won't comment until I see it in person. I didn't like the OD green until I saw it in person either. ;)

Yeah... PowerPlant Frame (PPF) is what snapped. Dad said it had a crack in it when they did the transmission swap. For all I know, it's been cracked this entire time. Like I said, I wanted to drive it now to try to figure out why I was hearing the sounds, and why it felt like the transmission was moving under acceleration and deceleration.

Good: It broke now and not on a road trip.
Good: Jess has one around the corner but it's hard to catch up to her. I found one online for $30.
Good: Relatively easy fix once the parts are here.

Bad: Dad couldn't get the bolts out of the diff when they did the transmission for me. Said it's going to take a torch and a big impact to get them out.
Bad: I was hoping to drive it this weekend to Pittsburgh.
Bad: My springs just came in today.

That's crappy, Phen, but like you said, it was probably the best time for it to happen. If you need a hand with any of it, just give me a call.

what do you think would be the problem? im pretty sure it isnt a big deal. my 5 has winter wheels and tires without tpms and the little light is on, but who cares.

i put a piece of electrical tape over the light in the cx-7 for the winter. can't even see the little light ;)

That my friend does not look like a slight bend.

That is gonna look sweet, I liked the O.D. green too. Everything looks good with a black car. Nothing IMO looks good with "charcoal" except silver.

Morning folks.

For reference, I'll show you what broke, and what it's supposed to look like...

See attached for mine broken.

Umm... not really. Boosted cars tend to break them from time to time... but usually when around 300+ whp.

I can only assume from the amount of crap people give you about the power of your car this will not happen again. Good thing right?

I'm not going to say yes to that because it probably will happen again eventually. Hopefully Jason can develop a quality piece.

So it is pretty common? Judging by the looks of the bare chassis pic it could have an adverse affect on alignment as well. That is if you can't replace it as a simple bolt in. Know what I mean?

Only common if you're making way more power than you need. Mine shouldn't have broken the way it did with my power level. Naturally aspirated cars won't break these unless something goes really wrong. The way my clutch is, I'm sure it didn't help matters much. I get a lot of clutch chatter and wheel hop.

your heavy foot doesn't help either

Sorry about your car Phen.

looks like it's going to be a nice day, hopefully I can make the 2 car garage fit two cars by the end of it.
