The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

Well I got a call from the bank saying to call them about fradulent charges. Seems like someone get ahold of my card number and used it in Georgia. Filed a dispute and going to the local branch tomorrow to file a written and signed paper. I hear about it all the time but it feels so weird and messed up now that it happened to me.

It's happened to me, and also my mom. s*** sucks, lemme tell you.

Did you get it resolved? Did you get your money back? I'm really worried about that. I'm not exactly in the best position to have money stolen from me.

Yeah, I did get credited for it. It took some time to get things worked out tho.

yay. i have a job for x-mas break.

Happened to my dad. It looked pretty suspect when someone bought gas with his card somewhere around Georgia, then he bought lunch at BK in Ohio, and then they bought groceries back around Georgia. He got it sorted out and I don't think had to pay anything.

That's a decent deal on your trade in value. My mom got ripped off super big time on her 99 Milly. It had 62k miles, no joke, I think she got like 1200 when she traded it in on her Prius.. It had electrical issues, but still, WTH. I wish I had that engine now...

fishy's vacuum block has a new home and while I was in there I decided to get new hoses.

Good Morning Ohians!

Ivan...sux about the ID theft dude. Hope you can get it sorted out and quick. And your ebay rear strut bar lives on.....from your car to Evans to mine! :) I can def. feel a difference with it.

What's up guys?

Didn't have my second (and last) class of the day, so I drove 45 minutes to Akron, class from 8:50-9:40, then 45 minutes back home. I've done a lot of homework since then, writing papers while wathcing MotoGP and Moto2 at Estoril. I need a break! Now I'm watching Australian V8 Supercars at Surfer's Paradise...

In other news, I just bid on a Forge Motorsports Bypass Valve on eBay--it ends in 4 hours. It says it is a direct bolt on replacement, used but fully working. I have always said I'd buy one if I can find it for under $75 shipped. This one fits the bill so far. Someone talk me out of it, or.....

sort of...not super exciting to watch IMO--but: a large field, narrow tracks, beautiful scenery, and reputable drivers. Dario Franchitti, Ryan Briscoe, and Will Power are all driving since Indy is finished.

There was a massive pileup in turn 1, just like Nascar LOL "they are 4 wide going into turn 1!!!!!"

edit: I dunno, I see it as a blend of a lot of racing. Not a lot of passing, since the tracks are so narrow and the cars are so similar, kinda like F1...slower pace like a continental tire series, but they have driver changes and stuff during the few endurance races just like grand am rolex...i kinda like it

they do race at some wider tracks, it's better to watch than nascar imo.

At surfer's paradise, there is a chicane in which there is no way all the cars fit...someone goes off every time! it's awesome. Oh, and here is the carnage from the race start if you are bored at work: http://www.streetfire.net/video/v8-supercars-crash-at-surfers-paradise_2077375.htm

the first turn is the crazy set of chicanes I'm talking about....you notice how cars just evade the island of concrete that is poured in the center of the track!

Every track is a fun track to drive to me. :D

I like V8 Supercars. Those boys are crazy. It's more entertaining than racing. It's a good change from all the F1 I watch.

yup, street circuit for sure, also why the track doesn't flow as well-hence wes's comment. I like V8...they are not FI, are they? At times I think I hear them whining, but I think it is just because they are in a large group....

and yes, Nascar blows, IEO: In Everyone's Opinion
although I tend to watch superspeedway and short track a lil....ooops

1.5 hours to go on my bid for a bpv
