I've done the PA to Des Moines, IA when I was a kid and again about three years ago. Worst drive of my damn life. We got to IA after driving all day with my mom and promptly got drunk at the restaurant across from the hotel. Only perk was the restaurant had some of the best smoked prime rib ever and my mom picked up my tab.

Similiar drive but we drove an hour South of Des Moines into Chariton and left from the PA/NJ border. Six effin long hours until we hit the "Welcome to Ohio" sign. lol Arrived at my mom's around 11am and she promptly informed us of our activities for the week. Even had my wife cook dinner one night! I'll just say that we left three days early.

Well you wouldn't be the only one.

I have roadside assistance thru my insurance company but I don't think that would cover getting the Camaro towed. Gotta Figure out if getting AAA would be cheaper than just getting a tow truck

AAA is $50 for the year, how far would the tow be? Know anyone with a truck that could tow it? If so, what about renting a trailer from U-haul, might be cheaper?

4 miles. I've thought about renting a trailer too as in option. It's about $50-$60 and I could do both cars myself. My biggest problem is that neither of them drives at the moment so getting them on the trailer could be an issue.

AAA only covers the first 3 miles.
A come-along will pull a car up on the trailer no problem, that's how I moved the 6 when I bought our house.

Depends on the plan you have, I had the PT Cruiser towed 16 miles a few weeks ago. I believe they towed spicy from Toledo back to Medina.

I assume the $50/year plan was the basic, which covers 3 miles. The platinum (top teir) covers 200 or 300 miles once a year then 100 miles an additional 3 times that same year, but the plan is way more than 50/year

Yeah, wasn't sure what the basic plan for AAA was. Did think it was more than 3 miles though. My in-laws have it but with unlimited towing...I'll have to ask what they pay annually for that.

Nate, as for getting the cars on the trailer...call some friends for help...bam!...another excuse to have a party.

looks nice but 2 pics of the same side makes me wonder if there's something crazy airbrushed on the other side ot the tank they don't want to or can't show you

Have AAA tow the Mazda and just pay to flatbed the Camaro. Let them worry about getting it moved without you having to break your back trying to move it. I'm sure things are going to be locked up on it and trying to move it on your own will be a huge PITA.

Wow why don't I have AAA?!?! It would seem like a no-brainer to get this. If you need a tow 1-time, it's probably going to cost you about the same, if not way more than a AAA membership.

I've been driving for 15 years (holy s*** i'm old..) - and have needed 2 tows, once after an accident that insurance covered, and once because i ditched the car on the freeway driving through a snow storm. That second tow was like $80. That was also 10+ years ago. If I had AAA, i'd be about $500 behind right now.

It's just an insurance thing. It's just one call to AAA and they set everything up, will even hook you up with a flat bed since a lot of our cars are lowered. They also do home locks too if you lock yourself out. Wish I had known that a couple months ago. haha. But I do see you point, Jon.

could be, but hell if i hate the paint job i take it a step further and just murder it out with matte black paint... fixes the issue of any airbrushing and might actually make it more sinister looking lol

Anyone like Hot Version? They're finally releasing new Hot Version episodes on Youtube! The newest episode 112 is basically all about Rotary engines.

In the first video, they actually interview a top executive from Mazda and he says, "We will come out with a new rotary engine." Hope that's true!

This is my first year without AAA. I've used it alot in the past, part of the reason I didn't renew is because both cars were already at my Mom's house and I thought I was going to be purchasing the house. But my brother is a dick and I ended up buying my current house.

This! It's simple math. The difference between AAA and insurance is that you are legally required to have insurance. Speaking of insurance, I pay $14 per 6 months for roadside assistance and towing as part of my policy. That's for 2 cars.

Or... You could just buy a new car every 3-5 years. Mazda and Subaru both offer free towing and roadside assistance for the first 3 years.

I've been driving 11 years and I had my car towed 1 time. I had the Speed3 towed to the dealership with the Mazda roadside assistance thing.
