The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

The new motors are just so much lighter because they have aluminum blocks. That and the injection allows for easy tuning. Both can make big power with the right parts. The big block would be ideal for a power to weight reclass for time trials because NASA only looks at the hp number and not the torque. Most small block crate motors and LS motors are around 400-500 lb-ft of torque while the big blocks are around 600-700 lb-ft. A big block with aluminum heads weighs about 120 lbs more than an LS1 (520 to 400).

Are you handy with carburetors? That's my only struggle, good carb guys are getting few and far between, and I don't know enough to keep adjusting on the fly. Carb's aren't exactly "set it and forget it". lol

Or, maybe just a fuel injection kit for a SBC or BBC?

Shut it...

I'm just tired and a little stressed out, but nothing unusual.

I had my garbage and recycling dumped in my driveway by the wind gusts this morning. That was fun cleaning it up and getting to work late. (lol2)

I turned mine on today, gonna take it to a couple of places tomorrow to see if they buy it... it felt so good just to sit in it again... :(

^^^ Wow. Was his arm really just relaxing on the door? And what kind of driver mod says "Oh s***, I think I might loose control, better let go of the wheel and grab a A pillar.". haha

just hold on to the car till early April if you can then you will get the money for it, spring is convertible season in Ohio that's when people are def. looking.

This is why everyone should have an instructor when they start out on track: http://jalopnik.com/this-is-how-not-to-drive-a-porsche-on-a-race-track-129701947

Wow that made my head hurt. Driving the whole time with his arm on the window! Horrible lines, generally losing control randomly, letting go of the steering wheel... That guy doesn't deserve to drive at the COTA.

Yep! Miatas are worth $500-$1000 less this time of year. Are you looking to get rid of it quickly? When I was shopping my Speed3 around to dealerships they were offering me $3-4k less than what I ended up selling it for.

I would do the same as what Marc said. People around don't usually buy summer or sports cars in the winter season unless they are set on buying one. Wait until it is warmer out and you'll get more out of it. Convertible cars are a lot like ice cream in sales. They don't sell very well in the winter, but when it is warmer they are in more demand.
