The Ohio Auto-X and Track Event chat thread

If you aren't nervous before getting on track, you should not be on track! I get nervous everytime! I remember the first time @ Mid-Ohio running with NASA, I was nervous as hell. so focused on hitting my marks and being smooth, I forgot to do the most important thing!?! Breathe!!!!! I hae talked to a number of the pros and they get nervous while they are sitting on grid, whether it be a race or a practice session....I do understand that overwhelming concern about something happening to your car while on trac as I have seen many expensive cars get totaled, BMW's. Vettes, Lotus's, Maserati........I have peace of mind, as I do purchase HPDE Insurance, car is paid in full, etc.

Every time I hear someone talk about wrecking at Mid-Ohio I picture that S2000 that was totalled and the NSX that tapped the wall. Luckily I only went sun bathing on the beach...

Sun bathing? You fail, since it was overcast/raining working on your tan was pointless!
Stay off the beach!

lol, So true for that day. Don't know if I'll be able to do a Mid-Ohio day this year, but I want to do a day at Gingerman for sure.

Registration for the Toledo Pro Solo: http://www.motorsportreg.com/index....19C00-CA4A-4746-12046AEB53DCA3FA#.UupdgBBdV8E
and Wilmington Pro Solo: http://www.motorsportreg.com/index....FAEF1-AFE4-C607-7D9FB20A44AA2CD1#.UupeMRBdV8E

Registration opens May 2nd and 30th respectively for those interested people.

Last year the Toledo event was full within hours of registration opening, so if you want to be guaranteed a spot you want to be on top of registration immediately.

I'll definitely be doing both events, let me know if anyone is interested in co-driving. :)

Boooo!

They're like a regular autocross only more fun (and more expensive).

Look out, we've got a professional race car driver up in here! lulz

$115 for Nationals. Ouch. And it's probably crazy crowded and you get 3 runs, right? I will probably come watch though. :)

3 runs per day with a normal national event.

For a Pro it will be 4 runs per day (2 per course), and possibly more depending on where you end up. I believe they do a bracket style elimination at the end to crown the winner.

It is a great way for you to get experience and see how things are done at nationals.......you will learn a lot too! If I could fit in your car Will I would take you up on it!

Are nwor and w/e other group introducing a "classic American Muscle" class? (CAM). SB region is introducing it in hopes of drawing more people. I have mixed feelings about it.

I wasn't aware that anyone here autocrosses anything that would remotely qualify for that class...

no no. More like I'm just curious if it will make the events go longer or people get even less runs. Not thinking anyone would compete in the class

I had a blast at the Wilmington national event last year. It makes me wish all of the events were like that haha!

Bring Spicy out to the event! It will be a good time.

Hey, moar seat time if one of the goals for this year.

Pro Solo's are a blast, the class I had to run in was R-1 or R-2 I forget which but it was all the prepared class, and Modified classes. I was totally out gunned with my RX-7. I was fighting not to be DFL in class.
